Despite her earlier conversation with Sir Bors, when night fell, and she was sure the probability of being caught was low, Ygraine was sneaking sneaking out of the castle to meet Melehan. They hadn't, at least in her opinion, spent nearly enough time together since he'd returned from his Druid tests, and she'd been looking forward to their meeting since they had arranged it.

So looking forward to it, in fact, that she may have gotten a little overenthusiastic when it came to riding out into the forest to meet him. Ygraine was an excellent horsewoman; she'd been riding her entire life, really, so she didn't hesitate in nudging her horse into a full gallop, even though this was her new horse, Brynn, and Brynn was green enough that the first time she'd ridden her, she'd been told to take it easy. And taking it easy was exactly what Ygraine wasn't doing.

Which was why she was thrown.

It wasn't too hard of a fall--Ygraine knew how to fall just right, when it came to horses--so she wasn't really hurt, but a part of her landed on an exposed tree root, causing her to land wrong. When she tried to stand up, putting any weight on her left leg at all hurt enough to bring her right back down. It hurt. A lot. And she knew that she was going to be bruised all over the place within the hour. If she was a crier, she would have been crying, that's how bad it was. But instead, she was just a little wibbly, more from the embarrassment of eating dirt than the pain, even though the pain was a part of it.

At least Brynn came right back to her, and, in an attempt to apologize, was nuzzling her new mistress on the shoulder. Ygraine rubbed the horse's forehead. "You're lucky you're a gorgeous horse, otherwise I wouldn't be forgiving you this quickly."
