This was so good. I love stories that take their time with the progression of a relationship, and this was perfect. The way that Sam and Kurt started as friends and how it's worked its way up to Sam realizing he has feelings beyond friendship for Kurt was just so well done. Love.

Sam and Kurt were right on the dot. I can't even explain to you how much I love your Sam - he's so honest. The bit where he was telling Kurt his list of "should have"'s, and how he didn't want to add to that list anymore was absolutely wonderful. Sam is funny in his nerdy way, and Kurt is just as snarky as ever... It's great.

I also like how you included little things about the other characters, some of which had me laughing right from the get-go (and pulled me into the story): "One of the doors was ajar, letting him see it was clearly the parental bedroom, while another held a small wooden sign proudly claiming “FINN” in the large, blocky letters children used when they didn’t quite know how to write yet, so at least Sam didn’t have to ponder for too long which door he should knock at.

I laughed way too hard at that @_@ I could just see it so perfectly, Finn in all his Finn-ness being just the type of overgrown kid to have a sign like that on his door.

Mercedes, tricky girl, was great in this as well. I always love it when Kurt's friends show that they have his best interests at heart.

It's also very realistic to say that Kurt is oblivious to Sam's feelings, because, as you pointed out, he had to deal with the strange "we're-really-close-but-I-don't-want-to-date-you" situation with Blaine. It's things like this detail that make this story so good.

And so I look forward to watching Sam go after Kurt! I hope to see more soon! :D

I won't lie, I literally "squee-ed" when I saw you had left a comment - you write the best ones :D

I'm sooo delighted you liked the pace of this story, you can't even know. You see, it was supposed to be a cutesy piece of 5000 words max, just the classical "A and B pretend to date and A falls in love with B" but then it didn't fit to make them actually date and I started to try to find some context that would explain it and I started writing and Sam and Kurt just didn't want to hurry and...yeah. Here we are. So I'm absolutely overjoyed you thought it was good anyway :)

And that you love my Sam, when I adore the way you write him (I've started on your other wonderful fics, though I haven't had the time to read much lately) means so much to me! I think he's a very likeable guy and much easier to write than Kurt is, but knowing that other people don't find him OOC or bland is extremely reassuring.

Haha I probably shouldn't say that Finn's door sign is a bit of a self-insertion, eh? :p But I thought it was something he'd do, and I'm very glad you agree! I have a sort of love/hate relationship with Mercedes on the show, she's not a very consistent character I think, but her love for Kurt drew me to her and Kurt's love for her is beautiful as well, I adore their friendship.

And yeah, after everything that happened, Kurt has sort of completely erased Sam from his radar :D poor blondie will have to work to become a blip on it once again :)

Once again THANK YOU SO MUCH, thank you a thousand times for the lovely comment, I can't tell you how much it means to me <3 TO thank you I promise I'll try and write a little tonight, though I hadn't intended to, so I can deliver the next part faster :D
Hugs!
