Comment on this post and say YO BABY ! I WANT TO DO THAT INTEREST MEME or something like that. I will choose seven interests from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are interested in them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so that others can play along.

lady_ganesh asked about the following:
airwolf: Early to mid 1980s show about a stealth helicopter, the people who flew her, the people who tried to get/steal her back, and various shenanigans. It lasted 4 seasons, but the fourth season had a completely different cast than the first three and was filmed in Canada instead of California. (I didn't bother watching the fourth season beyond the premiere.) My interest in it was reawakened when I found some really good fanfic for it, but that writer seems to be busy with other things right now. Sort of woe, because she's the same person who came up with the RK/SW crossover. XD Anyway, I have the dvds for the first three seasons around. Somewhere.

detective fiction: I've always been a fan of detective fiction. Don't quite recall the first mystery I read, but I know some of my early reading included Alfred Hitchcock's Three Investigator series, Sherlock Holmes, and a series of juvenile books by Robert Newman set in Holmes' London. I received the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes dvd set this past Christmas, I've read quite a bit of Agatha Christie, and my complete set of Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries are around. Somewhere. I'm not current on it though--fanfic seems to have taken over quite a bit of my reading time the last few years. XD

eating meg's spicy brains: in-joke referring to lazulisong, who at one point wrote rather awesome CLAMP fanfic and is currently obsessed with knitting and J-pop boybands. I don't quite recall the exact wording, but basically Meg one day proclaimed that her brain is not a spicy treat for us to snack on, or something like that. Which of course inspired the interest and at least one icon. XD

libraries: In high school I was quite determined to become a librarian. Didn't quite make it, and at this point I'm not sure I want to--I'm kind of leaning toward computer science, to be honest, but I have to find the time to actually take classes. In any case, I currently work as staff in one.

鋼の錬金術師: Hagane no renkin jyutsushi, aka Fullmetal Alchemist. What can I say, I was feeling a little pretentious that day and decided to stick the actual Japanese title in my interests. XD Haven't really kept up with the manga though, due to budget. ;_;

pit of voles: You know, when I read mooncalf's blog entry that first called Fanfiction.net a pit of voles, I had no idea it would spread like it did. I'm fairly sure she didn't either. XD Some pretension involved with this one as well, since this is sort of a "I read it when it was first posted!" thing for me. XD

nora roberts: NYT bestselling author, who began her writing career in category series romances with Silhouette, and who currently writes under that name and under the J. D. Robb pseudonym. I've been a fan of hers for at least 20 years--discovered her in high school, and followed her since. Last year was a bit of a bad year for me, so I haven't quite caught up with her mainstream titles, but I did cling to her Robb titles like a kid with a teddy bear. Strangers in Death = totally awesome and I should write a coherent review one day.

Wow, that got long.
