Just woke up. Had a long nightmare where Lawrence was bothering me awfully bad. So much so that the auntie smashed the glass with a baseball bat to get into the room and declared she's gonna use a horrible-sounding punishment on him. I didn't know to rejoice or to pity.
My nose isn't any better and I still have a sore throat. Ack.
I'm actually pretty lucky today. See, I was supposed to hand in the journal for English today, and started on it only last night cuz I'd underestimated the number of readings I have to do. I was feeling pretty ill by then, and left a voice mail message (I think that's the first I've ever left! I hate voice mail) to ask if I can fax in or email her the journal entries. I figured it's nearly impossible that she would check the message and return my call, so I decided I'll just go down in the morning to submit, and come back to rest.
By midnight, I still had a long way to go since there were 5 more readings to go and each was really long. I'd decided that a total of 5% for 2 journal submissions, along with the documentation exercise, just wasn't worth it. I told myself I'll do as much as I can manage, and just submit that. Better if I can get enough rest and make it for the lesson.
When I got into the bathroom this morning, I realized that my ring had slipped off. I thought that it must have happened while I was asleep and tried to look for it on the bed. I turned over the pillow, held up the blanket but still no luck! I looked all over the living room and I still couldn't find it. When I got back to the bedroom, I thought I saw the curve of my ring on the floor but it turned out to be just a strand of dust. Felt like a drowning man clutching a straw. I looked around the bedroom floor, and even under the bed but I just couldn't find it. By then, panic was rising and I was getting a headache from all the searching. I thought I'll just hand in the file and come back.
Well, just as I was leaving for school, Karen called to tell me not to worry about it, and to get my rest. She said I can just submit it on Monday when I go back to school. Wow! See, first impressions are really NOT reliable. I'm gonna make use of this chance to finish the other entries best as I can.
I continued to search for my ring after that, and thought that maybe it had slipped inside the luggage when I stuffed a plastic bag in last night. I took out that bag and the ring not only tumbled out, but with a clang too! *phew* I'm gonna hafta put it on my necklace or something, since it's getting increasingly loose on my finger.
