> Yes. Do aboslutely nothing for 4 days, ignore email, and keep telling your boss that "you're working on it." Eventually the stress will force you into action.

*lol* I guess that's been my approach, too! except the action part hasn't happened yet.

Your "FUCK YES" makes me feel much better. I'm definitely with you on the retirement thing, and pretty close on the ideal job. Especially I waste all this time reading the Yarn Harlot and similar blogs, and I think to myself, man! If I could dye up a whole bunch of wool sock yarn and get her to mention it on her blog, I could probably quit this job. Well, ok, probably not, actually, and it would be quite a gamble. Dye up a ton of yarn in Harlot colorway, send her a free skein, and either she uses and blogs it, so you better have hundreds of identical ones ready or it's wasted marketing, or she doesn't and you have hundreds of identical skeins of sock yarn sitting around in a colorway you probably don't like that much (she and I don't seem to like many of the same colors). It's still a compelling fantasy, though, and it involves practically zero beige-office-sitting.

You could still do the yarn thing and sell the skeins on ebay if she doesn't bite. I'm not familiar with Yarn Harlot--but I'm going to stay far away. I'm so intent on all things Japanese right now that I need to make the most of my desire to study it and avoid distractions. I delude myself enough as it is--that listening to japanese songs and watching movies/shows is actually helping me. In a way it is, but not so much as I like to pretend.
