As most of you know, I teach a lot of computer literacy classes--how to use Word, Excel, etc. To pass the class you need the following skills:
- The ability to read or
- The ability to listen
- The ability to follow directions
- The ability to point and click with a mouse
That's it, folks! For 3 college credits! And sadly, most people lack all but the mouse part. This is the part of the semester when I'm about ready to kill them.
Well, I had this dream Friday night that I was teaching one of my computer literacy classes, but instead of the usual minor hum of rudeness, it was complete chaos. People were yelling and running around, and three boys were actually having a squirt gun battle. I lost it and started screaming and swearing at them all and throwing them out. I threw out all the ruffians, and then another teacher came in with a class and planned to use the computers for lab time, so I threw them out too. Then I started my lecture, and this one girl just would not shut up. I started yelling at her, "Shut up! Shut up! @#$#$^#%&@#$%@#$ SHUT UP!" but she wouldn't, so I threw her out too. I ended up throwing out practically the entire class. It was really satisfying.
