Young Adulthood

Lately I have been pondering the misuse of the term "Young Adult". When I entered middle school I was now directed to read the books in the "YA" section, as if the summer months had matured me from a mere elementary schooler to becoming a "Young Adult" middle schooler. 20? Not in this day and age of twixters, spinsters, or whatever the new euphemism for post college age people with meaningless jobs and lack of desire to leave their parent's home.

The transitionary phase between elementary and middle school now has a name "tween".

Man, I am really dreading this year's birthday!
