Dear Fans,
So it turns out that I made it through undergraduate school and I got my degree! YAY!!!
Friday my family came down and we went to my graduation at Lane Stadium. I got to walk on the football field for the first time in my short career at Virginia Tech. It was great! We had a guy come from GE and speak to us! I'm excited about working for them.
After graduation we managed to run to D2 and eat before the closed. Thank God, my dad would have killed us if we missed the free dinner. It was fun and I got a few deserts. I think that's one thing I like best about that place, they always have something I like for dessert.
Saturday we got up WAY too early for the college of engineering ceremony. I got my degree! We went downtown and ate lunch at Jimmy John's sandwich shop. It was delicious. Then Liz went away for a while and I went downtown with Elizabeth, Mom, and Dad and showed them around. We got to go to the Easy Chair bookstore, an art store downtown, and a record store. I had never been in the last two. The easy chair bookstore was nice. After all of that we went to Jen's graduation (Elizabeth, Liz, and I) and it was kind of boring... Kevin Jones was there though and he sat right in front of us! It was pretty neat. After that Mom, Dad, Liz, Elizabeth, and I all went to Outback steakhouse for dinner. They didn't take reservations, so we just showed up, waited about 20 minutes, and got to eat a nice dinner! Kevin Jones came there for dinner too! He must have good taste ;)
Went home and Jerrod was trying to take all of my stuff over again. Fixed that problem, and then went out with Jenn and Patrick to give them their graduation presents. I gave Patrick all of the leftover beer from my graduation party. Then Liz and I went back to my apartment, sealed ourselves up in my room, and we worked on packing our individual things... She had to sort through papers, and I had to sort through my clothes... Sad.
Today we got up a bit late because we were so darned tired. We packed and packed and packed and finally went to meet with my family after they got out of church. We went to Joe's diner for breakfast and I liked that a lot. We got the best chocolate milk ever! After breakfast my dad left and my mom came around with us while Liz and I ran a few errands before we left. Then we packed up my mom's car and my truck quickly, and then headed out. We got on the road about 3pm and then we ended up getting to Arlington about 7:15pm.
When we arrived at Liz's aunt's house we got dinner, which they were eating when we arrived. Her grandparents and two aunts and uncles were in for a funeral. The dinner was still on the counter though and it was really good. We had delicious turkey, yellow squash casserole, and bread. For dessert we had strawberries and ice cream, and it was fantastic. Then they broke out some champagne for me and her grandfather brought me some and said "It is a tradition in our family that any possible in-laws need to be asked twenty questions, by each person here"... I think I turned pretty red. I was happy that he considers me that close enough of family though. Everybody laughed and the whole thing turned nice. I really like their family!
So then we came back to my house and picked up Liz's HEAVY suitcase and red bag. Then we went to see the art sign to see when it ran and it turns out the bus doesn't start running there until 6:00am. This would be fine but it turns out she is trying to get to work earlier than that and she wanted to leave at 5:30am. She was sad and I hope she feels better. I tried to make her feel better about it all, but that whole situation really sucks. I hope it all works out well! I know it will! Poor baby :(...
Then I came back home and Elizabeth had gotten her first Check Card in the mail. She wanted to try using it for the first time and begged me to go to the store with her. I did and we went there. I got some stuff for lunch tomorrow and it was a pretty good time.
Now I'm here, back at home and I miss Liz. We haven't been apart but a few hours, but I know she will have a long day tomorrow and she'll be nervous tonight. I hope she can sleep and she has a good first day at a new job. I love her so much and I hope she likes her job a lot! GOODLUCK LIZ!!!!!!!!
Alright, now I'm going to go. This keyboard is hurting my hands, and you now know everything up to tonight.
I love liz!
-Mike
