That is tragic indeed. I had problems with mine, too. I wanted @fasterthanyou, but some butthead already has it. So I got @likeablur instead. I need a fancy background now. (I'm definitely putting more effort into this than my actual account. This is so sad. IN A WONDERFUL WAY.)

Ugh, my internet connection is being such an ass. I'm trying to create my account now and it's just not loading correctly. Also, my life would be about 472834 times easier if I didn't hate underscores so damn much. :|
