Adrift [Prologue] anonymous August 19 2011, 15:49:56 UTC
Kaldur is lost.

He admits it to himself valiantly, admits to this defeat that pulls him down into an inky blackness from the undercurrents of life.

It is an unearthly feeling that washes over him, pooling in his chest and dripping down to his stomach with an unmistakable warmth he's felt before.

Just once.

It takes over him, this long lost guest lapping at the shores of his heart. The guest is like the rippling waves cast by Neptune on lazy summer afternoons. It sloshes in quietly, just enough droplets to catch the boy's attention. Then it pulls back, folds back into the depths of a sea he's not quite sure he'd swim in again. But just when he feels tiny rivulets of relief pouring over him, the feeling--the guest--makes a triumphant return. It crashes into him wildly, white foam kissing dark skin, the rolling lull of the wave pushing against him, dragging him around like a lifeless ragdoll lost in the cruel waters.

This feeling, this guest that invites itself into Kaldur's heart, is drowning him.

This feeling, cruel and wonderful and completely mesmerizing, sends him adrift to sinewy arms and lean legs that tumble with a laugh.

This feeling, swirling and churning around him like whirlpools, leaves him thirsty for more.

This feeling, Kaldur whispers to the corners of his mind as those veiled eyes look his way, is love.

Kaldur is lost.

And he wonders if those eyes will find him.

Hope you don't mind me filling this. I'm still following your prompt but if it's alright, I'll be writing it a little seriously at the start.

Let me know if you have objections, OP.
