Also: The pronoun usage for Desire is wonky on purpose. Desire is usually referred to as "it" in the books and I just don't approve of that. Also, Desire obviously tries to be the most complicated out of the Endless so switching between gendered pronouns would probably seem like fun.

Also, totally with you on the gender trouble when it comes to Desire, but I think you handled it really well and it worked for me! Thank you so much for this fill, it was delightful.

Desire is one of my favorite characters in The Sandman (second only to the Corinthian and Morpheus) and since in my extensive head canon, Klarion is a a massive brat that's still in his "mine" phase, Desire would want him. I seriously enjoyed getting into Desire's head and I'm seriously just as pleased as punch that you enjoyed this story.
And I'm rereading the series right now so you might actually get more from me (probably a sequel of sorts with one of the other Endless showing how disappointed/disturbed they are with Desire basically adopting Klarion or something like that).

As for the mysterious redheads, I purposely left it to be open-ended. It felt as though Klarion would be conflicted as to who he wanted so I wanted the reader to be as well.
