I am REALLY, REALLY SORRY about taking so long, guys, and about not being around much recently. I've been busier than I have in a while, and it just kept slipping my mind between uni applications and volunteering and all sorts- for some reason I thought we were much further off a new post.

If there is anything I haven't responded to, as of now, I'm ( Read more... )

How the Team Became Billy's Protective Siblings Without Him Knowing It anonymous March 14 2012, 01:42:49 UTC
That movie is what made me fall in love with Billy Batson.
***
Robin, like any good protege of someone who has done multiple background checks on every member of the League, decided to do a thorough investigation into Billy Batson's history; how he got his powers, how he becomes an adult every time he says 'Shazam', things like that. Besides, the name sounded familiar.

Oddly enough, one of the best sources recounting Billy's history was an article written by Uncle Clark. After reading it, Robin felt a little shocked and dismayed, especially since that could have been his life had it not been for Bruce.

At least Billy had an uncle who came and adopted him recently. But still, something needed to be done.

"Robin, why did you call this team meeting?" Kaldur asked. After all, it was only a day after Zatanna had joined and everyone was still reeling a little from the after effects; which was why Zatanna was not at this team meeting, actually.

"Because, we know Captain Marvel's secret identity now. And remember how we distreated him when we thought that he was here to keep an eye on us and coddle us?"

Everyone nodded.

"Well, we should stop treating him so badly. Actually respect him."

Artemis frowned. "We should treat him better because he's younger than us?"

Kid Flash smirked. "What did you find out when doing your background check?" he asked in a sing-song manner.

Robin held up his report on Billy's history. "This."

All other members of the team looked at various articles and findings; their eyes grew wide. M'gann seemed to coo in sympathy; Conner's eyes softened, and Wally winced.

"Okay, if anyone deserves our respect, it's someone who's been through dead parents, abusive foster parents, being on his own, and managing to appear as an adult to the League this entire time. I'll admit it," Artemis said.

Red Arrow had a habit of entering Mount Justice when the team least expected it. Which is why he caught the team, in civies, hanging out with a ten year old boy.

"I thought you guys weren't a kid's clubhouse. Guess I was wrong."

The glares he received from every member of the team frightened him. "Do not insult Billy" they said in unison.

Red Arrow never called the place a kid's clubhouse again; he also never asked what that ten year old was doing at the mountain.

Hey, just thought I'd mention- if you thought Return of Black Adam was sad, read Superman/Shazam: First Thunder.
I cried.
