I am REALLY, REALLY SORRY about taking so long, guys, and about not being around much recently. I've been busier than I have in a while, and it just kept slipping my mind between uni applications and volunteering and all sorts- for some reason I thought we were much further off a new post.
If there is anything I haven't responded to, as of now, I'm

The city streets lay in ruin as a major battle had gone down only moments ago.
Flash and Kid Flash had just taken down the joint force of Mirror Master and Captain Boomerang. The city streets were full of broken glass pieces and small boomerangs. A giant boomerang with wrist cuffs was laying precariously on the corner of closed off street, with most of the metallic weapon lodged deep into the front of an antique shop. Luckily for the owners, the Flash managed to carry them safely away from the crash site before going back to pull the cuffs off of his partner’s wrists.
Civilians clapped and cheered as the two Rogues were hauled into the back of a police trucks by city’s beloved heroes. The man in red gave them all a big smile as he closed the door on the truck’s door, imprisoning the villains until they could be placed within the confines of Iron Heights Penitentiary.
“Good job, Kid.” Flash smiled down at his partner. “You managed to go toe-to-toe with Boomerang.”
“Yeah, until he strapped me to that Giant Boomerang.” Kid Flash pouted a bit that little tidbit. He almost had Captain Boomerang before the villain pulled out a controller from his jacket pocket and pushed the red button. He would’ve seen it sooner if he hadn’t been taunting and boasting so much.
The man in red shook his head before ruffling the crop of red hair that peaked out of teen’s cowl. “Don’t worry about it, Kid. We all make mistakes here and there. Besides, you managed to stop the boomerang before it could hurt anyone. That was quick thinking right there.” Though Barry was proud of Wally, he was still a bit shaken by the whole thing. He knew that the Rogues were above killing children, but Digger had gotten a little rough with the Kid.
Kid Flash scrunched his eyes up as the elder kept the treatment on his hair. He hated it when Uncle Barry did this sort of thing in public. It was so embarrassing! He was sixteen now, damnit! Though, he couldn’t deny that it was comforting. And soothing. And...before he knew it, he was leaning into the soothing touch of his uncle’s fingers. He secretly liked it when Barry and Iris showed signs of affection towards him. It wasn’t like he got it at home from his pare-
Wally’s eyes widened as he took a look around at the illuminated city before his gaze fell upon a sidewalk clock a couple of feet away. It read 10:49 p.m. As he checked the time, his whole body started to vibrate in anxiety.
The next thing the spectators knew, Wally had bolted away from view. At the speed that Wally was going, no one was able to see how tense his shoulders had been or how his eyes were full of panic as he ran. Only Barry was able to see the Kid’s disposition and it terrified Barry to the core.
Just as he was about to follow after his nephew, a mob of fans approached the hero, pens and paper in each of their outstretched hands. Barry was usually the type of guy who likes to make people smile and so signed whatever it was they wanted him to sign. But, Barry knew that if every second counted when it came to Wally so he backed away from his fans and got into position. Wally came first, no matter what.
“Sorry folks, but I got to go.” Flash said before disappearing in a blur of red and yellow.

“Not in the mood Hal. Kid ran off and I have no idea where he went.” Barry told him as he took a sharp turn. Hal followed behind his distressed friend. The man in green knew that the only reason why he could keep up with the Fastest Man Alive was because the speedster was afraid of causing fissures if he ran at Light speed.
“What happened?” Hal asked.
“I’m not sure. One minute I was congratulating him on a job well done, and the next, he was running as fast as he could out of there. He could be anywhere by now.” Barry sped up a bit at the thought of this.
“Barry, you’ve got to calm down. You know what happens when you run too fast.” Hal said as they made their way through Central Park.
“There’s no time!” Barry exclaimed, desperation in his tone. “Jay is in Hawaii for his anniversary and Iris is in Metropolis on a journalist retreat. I’m only one man.” Barry had finally stopped running and was vibrating in anxiety, head held down.
Multiple scenarios went through the blond’s mind at an alarming rate. What if he’s hurt? Did he eat enough? What if he ran out of fuel and is stuck somewhere, scared out of his mind? What if-
A sudden pressure on his shoulder shook him from his gruesome thoughts.
“Have you tried contacting him on his comm.?” Hal asked.
Barry shook his head. “He dropped his comm. in the ocean during a mission in the Pacific Ocean. We’re still waiting for Bats to give us a replacement.”
“Don’t worry, Barry. We’ll find him.”
“We?” Barry looked up and into his best friend’s eyes in confusion.
“What, you think I’d let you look for Wally all by yourself?” Hal raised his eyebrow. “Come on, Barry. You know that Kid is special to me, too. He’s special to a lot of people. Heck, even your villains took a liking to the Kid.” That made Barry smile a little. Hal squeezed his shoulder in a comforting gesture as he continued. “Now, come on, we’ve got a speedster to find.”

I love the Rogues so much. Heck, I even love them more than Rudy. Which is ironic because they're villains, but I really dislike that man. Well, I'm still a bit hesitant with Cold because of Flashpoint, but I know that his original self still has his morals and ideals. And the most important one is don't kill women and children. The Rogues are so interesting. And Wally's enigmatic character, but that's not the point XD

“Any sign of him on your end?” Barry’s voice rang through the communicator.
“He’s not at his favorite café. What about you? Any luck?” Hal asked as he finished checking Café Sugar.
“Well, he’s not in Paris getting a croissant and he wasn’t in Italy looking for pasta. And he definitely wasn’t in China to get take out.” Barry said.
The two men had decided to split up the search-Hal was to take Central and Keystone while Barry checked everywhere else around the world. Hal thought it a bit unfair that he was given such a small search radius, but after a while managed to understand the speedster’s logic. Barry was really cautious and overprotective of his nephew and the fact that the kid could be anywhere in the world made the man’s paternal instincts go haywire. Barry’s current stress level was the reason why Hal hadn’t complained about his assignment.
Suddenly, a red and blue blur caught Hal’s attention. If he didn’t know that Jay wasn’t in Keystone, Hal would’ve probably thought it was him and ignored it. But, as he had been informed, Jay was in Hawaii.
“Uh, Barry, I’m going to have to call you back.” Hal said into the communicator before ending the transmission. Maybe I should have a little talk with him before alerting Barry. Wally tends to get too embarrassed to explain things when Barry is involved.
Hal followed behind the blurring figure below him as he zigzagged through the city, speeding up here or there, until he made it to the top of the cliff.
Taking a look at the person in front of him, Hal took notice of how skinny the other was. That should’ve been his first hint.
The lanky figure in front of him was dressed a pair of jeans and a red Flash hoody that wrapped around his upper body to keep him from the windy climate. The hood was placed up and was doing a good job of covering the person’s head from view.
Hal landed an arm’s length distance behind Wally and placed a comforting hand on the teen’s left shoulder. The sudden gesture caused Wally to tense up and caused his breathing to pick up. Hal frowned a bit as he tried to pull himself away from his grasp, even vibrating his joints as a way to escape.
“It’s just me.” Hal told him. That didn’t seem to calm the teen down much as his breath was still a bit labored and his heart was beating faster than normal; well, normal for a speedster, that is. But the thing that was starting to scare Hal a bit was the fact that he was facing away from him.
“Look at me, kid.” Hal said. Hearing the Green Lantern’s soothing tone managed to calm the young speedster down a bit as his shoulders unfurled and his breathing evened out. But he didn’t turn to look at the older man.
Sorry Kid, but you leave me no choice. With a speed that would make either of the Speed Demons proud, Hal yanked the hood off of Wally’s head.
What Hal saw made him see red.
Now that Wally’s hood had fallen down onto his shoulders, Hal had a pretty good view of Wally’s face. His skin was paler than usual and appeared to be covered in sweat. His usual green eyes had widened in fear as he looked at Hal, looking like a puppy who had been kicked by its master. Well, one green eye as the other one had been swollen shut and had become purple. But, the most gruesome sight was the large and blistering handprint that went around Wally’s neck.
Even though the redhead looked like he’d been to hell and back, he still managed to give the older man a small, albeit bloodied, smile.
“Hey, Uncle Hal.” He said and winced as his split lip stung.
I feel like it's too short...
