Prompt Post - Part Ten

Mar 11, 2012 17:03

I am REALLY, REALLY SORRY about taking so long, guys, and about not being around much recently. I've been busier than I have in a while, and it just kept slipping my mind between uni applications and volunteering and all sorts- for some reason I thought we were much further off a new post.

If there is anything I haven't responded to, as of now, I'm ( Read more... )

He had lived on the streets for most of his life, and Uncle Dudley, no matter how wonderful, couldn't change habits practised for years.

Most of the people he knew back then were... well, maybe not criminals per se (Billy had been hungry before, so hungry it felt as if his stomach was digesting itself, eating into his spine, clawing at his insides like a savage animal, and he couldn't call anyone that hungry a criminal. That wasn't crime, that was desperation. Even now, Billy only arrested most robbers because the prison had food, at least, and was really a step up on the whole.) but that didn't mean they weren't dangerous.

They all slept with knives as their pillows, back then.

He had been so lonely, though. Billy knew that there were a lot of human weaknesses -- cold, thirst, exhaustion, famine, sickness...

He had experienced them all.

Loneliness was worst.

Sometimes you needed physical contact, no matter what the cost.

And so... Well, if you tackled someone and ran away really quickly, usually they had time to forgive you before they saw you next.

He was pretty good at dodging the knives when they didn't, anyways.

~-!-~

I'm really tired but I think Billy is honestly kind of insane. He'll take an incredible amount of crap in a way so accepting it's almost creepy. I hope that came across.

...And I actually haven't seen this episode, I don't even know which episode it is, I'm way behind. So I have no idea if there's inconsistencies. I just went off the prompt.

Thank you!

I'd agree on the touch starvation thing. Humans are very social creatures.

You're right, Billy *is* insane, and that's why we love him. :P I haven't seen the newest episode either, just the gif of him tackle!hugging someone, reminding me of how he always seems to hug people.

But thank you so much for the fill!
