Through the Looking Glass 12/?? anonymous June 15 2012, 12:31:20 UTC
Jade stood on a rooftop, looking down at her city. She fingered the hilt of her sword, wondering if she should leave and look for crime more actively. She’d heard that there might be trouble tonight from Helena.

“Hey Chesh!” A young boy in a cape dropped into existence from who-knows-where beside her. “What’s up?”

Jade smiled behind her back. “Hello Boy Wonder,” she said, turning towards him, crossing her arms. “Batman send you?”

“Nah, just wanted to see how you were,” Robin said, shrugging. A mischievous smile appeared on his face. “I hear you’ve got a boyfriend now,” he said, voice slightly sing-song.

Jade flicked a dart at him in response, which the boy dodged with ease and a laugh. “Stay out of my personal life,” she told him. “How many times have I told you that?”

“Not enough,” Robin said with a smirk.

“Once a week should be enough,” Jade noted, pulling off her mask.

“Says you,” Robin said, sticking out his tongue. “Does Roy-Boy know about your position as a lady of the night?”

Jade snorted. “Catwoman is a bad influence on you.”

“Oh, like you were totally innocent in my corruption!” The Boy Wonder said, wrapping an arm around her waist.

“You were never innocent,” she informed him as she wrapped her arm around his shoulders. “You were born a little monster. Selina and I just made things worse.”

“Ah, you know you love me,” he said, sticking out his lip.

She laughed. “You can’t prove anything,” she told him, slipping her mask back on. “You want to come patrolling, or does Batman need you back?”

“Nah, he thinks you need looking after,” he said, pulling out a grappling gun.

“I have been doing this for six years, thank you very much,” Jade said with a frown as the grappling hook connected with the roof opposite their current one.

“He says the same thing about Superman,” he assured her as they leapt over the rooftops of Blüdhaven. “Don’t be offended.”
