Taking a flying leap, she landed lightly on her feet on the next roof, scanning carefully as she went.
After a little while, she spotted a few morons attempting to break into an ATM. She laughed to herself and leapt down, dispatching them with her usual ease, using a lovely combination of rabbit punching and elbow jabbing to send the idiotic trio into the land of slumber.
“Cheshire,” a familiar voice called, causing Cheshire to tense. Batman.
“Batman,” she replied, turning to the Dark Knight. “Good to see you again.”
He didn’t bother with pleasantries, instead moving straight to the point. “You took down a Cadmus operation last week.”
Jade nodded and knelt to cuff her captives for the authorities. A few rogue Cadmus scientists had taken to abducting street children for experiments on activating the meta-human gene. Cheshire had gone in, kicked their asses, grabbed some computer files, and then had to run before one of the crazy scientists had blown the building to kingdom come. Jade had barely got the kids out in time, and she’d had to cancel her date with Roy the next day.
“The files you stole,” Batman asked, and Jade just rolled her eyes that he knew-she had only told Huntress that, but... “Did they pertain to anything other than the operation you took down?”
“Perhaps,” she said evasively. She had no idea. She couldn’t crack the encryptions for the life of her. “What are they supposed to be up to?”
“Genetic manipulation,” Batman said, watching her closely.
“More about the meta-human gene?” Jade asked, narrowing her eyes.
“Possibly. We don’t know.”
“‘We’ being the Justice League?” Jade asked.
“Yes.”
Jade reached into her belt, locating the stolen jump disk and tossed it to him. “I can’t break the encryptions,” she admitted.
“We’ll manage.”
“I’m sure,” Jade said, rolling her eyes, preparing to vanish into the darkness. Last time, Batman had beaten her at disappearing, and she was not going to let that happen again.
Disappearing was her thing.
“The League’s offer still stands,” Batman said after a moment. “Your talents could be of use outside of Blüdhaven.”
Jade shrugged. “I’ll think about it.” She could use the excitement…
The two heroes vanished into the shadows at the exact same time.
Jade slipped in through the fire escape, pulling of her mask. Roy lay in her bed, still asleep. She tugged off her kimono and opened up the hidden storage area she had built when she was fourteen in her closet. She carefully folded her green kimono, and put her mask on top of it, making sure she still had all of her knives, shrunkens, poison darts, and her sword.
She slid the compartment shut, and got to her feet again, looking down at Roy. I should tell him…
She pushed aside the covers, and snuggled up against her boyfriend. Maybe tomorrow.

Jade's being invited to what? JL or YJ? Well... I did request for it to be YJ but if you think she'll be more suitable for JL it's ok. Also, you're continuing it and there's more! ;)
And what's with that metagene plot? Can't wait for the next update.
