Five Times Robin Fake Cried and One Time the Tears Were Real (2/2) anonymous May 15 2011, 21:40:14 UTC
"Stop it! That's so not true! I don't even... how could anyone even like her?!"

Robin scoffed, "Please, KF, you know you like her, so stop faking that you don't."

"I don't!" Wally complained.

"Yes, you do. And she obviously likes you back, and-"

Wally interrupted him, a scowl marring his face. "Don't you even say that! She does not. And even if she did, at least I had someone to like. No one is interested in you because you're always sticking your nose in somebody's business!"

Robin held back the eye roll of the lame insult. That's what he had to do; be nosy. That was what detectives had to do. But no one, especially Wally of all people, could understand that. So, Robin did what he did best: he acted.

"... That was low, man. You know that I have issues with that, and..." Robin sniffled, letting some fake tears escape. "For you to do that was just... plain mean."

Wally's expression softened. "Rob.... you know I was just kidding, right? Right?"

Robin shrugged, "I guess, but still. Don't joke about that."

"Rob! Rob! Rob!" Wally repeatedly kept hitting Robin until he finally got his attention.

"What?!" Robin snapped.

"Guess what hottie is making cookies?"

Robin rolled his eyes, and continued to work on fixing his motorcycle. "Gee, I wonder!"

"Shut up. Come on! Come with me to ask for cookies for me!"

He sighed and reluctantly agreed, following Wally into the kitchen where Megan was baking the cookies and Superboy was watching.

Wally sped up to Megan. "Hey beautiful, those cookies look almost as good as you. Can I have one?"

Megan smiled her usual sweet smile, but shook her head. "Thank you Wally, and I'd usually say yes, but these are just for Superboy today."

Wally frowned, "Aw man! Really? None for Wally?"

Megan nodded and continued to watch the cookies bake with Superboy, while Wally kept whining under his breath next to Robin. And Robin knew Wally would be whining for a while, so he decided to take matters into his own hands.

"Megan, may I have one?" Robin asked as nicely as he could.

She turned to look at Robin and shook her head. "I'm sorry, Robin! But no, just for Superboy."

Robin faked a very sad frown and nodded, "Alright. I understand, I’m sorry I asked, it's just... my mother never baked me cookies, and well, I just wanted to have one." Robin started to feel tears run down his cheeks and down to his neck.

Megan's eyebrows rose up and she looked to Superboy. She was obviously telepathically communicating with him. When she was done with her communication with Superboy, Megan turned to face Robin, a smile on her face. "Well, now of course you can have a cookie! Hello Megan! Take two, instead, okay?"

She handed Robin the two promised cookies, and she turned her attention back to Superboy and the other batch of baking cookies.

Robin then breezed past Wally, who was in shock while listening to the conversation. "That's how you get cookies." Robin smirked.

Wally walked out of the kitchen with Robin. "Dude, I thought you were serious about the whole crying thing!"

"Are you ready, Dick?" Bruce asked, as Alfred drove them over to the cemetery.

Dick nodded and sighed, preparing himself, because today was the day his parents died.

He walked out with Bruce and Alfred as they made their way towards Dick's parents grave. Bruce put a hand on Dick's shoulder as Dick placed flowers next to the grave and left the annual letter that he left every year.

Alfred smiled sadly, as he watched Bruce hug his younger adopted son as he cried. And this time, they were real...
