I'll admit that the portrayal of red K here was heavily influenced by it's appearance in Batman: The Brave and the Bold (where it turned Superman into first a jerk, and then a megalomaniac who took over the world). I only watched a season of Smallville years ago... And then there was the old style red kryptonite, which would do random things, like turn Superman to stone...

Interesting that everyone seems to love my portrayal of Daddy!Bats. I really worry that he's a little too perfect, verging into sueishness. I can see why Superman fans might not like the portrayal of Superman here, which I can totally understand, and I think you're right, that this is a YMMV thing. But you also seem to not like my portrayal of Lois all that much, and I'd be interested to know why. I've tried pretty explicitly to mold her in the S:TAS personality, and I've also taken a similar approach to her as I have with Batman (to the extent that I worry she's too understanding--in my head she understands BOTH Superman and Superboy. Clark's the only one she doesn't understand, and that's not her fault...). So what's wrong with Lois?

Or have I read too much into an elipsis?

Okay, B:TBatB is still on my to-watch list. But it sounds a lot of fun from your description. :D And I do know about old-style red k, though only through Wikipedia (although the L&C:TNAoS red k had a similar kind of randomness to it)...

D'oh! Sorry, English is not my first language, so I guess my use of elipsis was a bit unfortunate. I meant, I love Batman, but Superman and Lois will always be my OTP... Actually, I love your Lois - snappy, intelligent, quick-witted,... go, Lois! :D And I love your portrayal of Clark in part 5 as well. He can be so stubborn sometimes... ;)

Oh, B:TBATB is a wonderful, wonderful thing, though my love for it has a lot to do with my love for the Batman 1960s show, which is how I got into Batman, way back when in the day. And, way back when, when Cartoon Network didn't make any of its own stuff, just bought lots of old shows, they used to show the Superfriends episodes, where weird things (I mean, weirder things) happened when red K showed up. Superman rarely shows up in BATB, but the episode where he's spotlighted is called Battle of the Superheroes. You don't really need to watch the episodes in any kind of order (Except, I guess, I would leave Mite Fall for until after you've seen a lot of episodes). Before they were allowed to show Superman, they did a fun story where Batman went to another planet and met another batman and got Superman-style powers, making the other batman jealous of the Super!Batman. It's kinda hard to explain, except that it toys beautifully with Superman concepts without actually being able to bring in Superman. It's called Super Batman from Planet X. It's kinda a weird show. A big YMMV, depending largely on how silly you like your comix (which for me is A LOT. I'm not a huge fan of the Nolanverse because for me half the point of superhero comix is that they're ridiculous). None of that is either here or there though...

And actually, your English, at least in so far as I've been able to observe, is perfect. English isn't my first language either (though it's my dominant language and the one I'm most comfortable with, the joys of migration in our globalized world). Often I can tell who on the web isn't a native English speaker because they don't make the typical mistakes of native English speakers (mixing up then and than, for instance) but they make odd little mistakes with pronouns and prepositions that a native speaker just wouldn't make (prepositions of course being one of the most difficult things to learn and understand when you're learning another language). But you totally pass the Touring test (and yeah, I know the Touring test is about AIs... but you also pass the real Touring test, because I don't think you're a robot...)

I'm going to chalk the misunderstanding to the constraints of written speech. If we had been conversing, I would have heard the wistful drifting off of the ellipsis which you intended, and not the uncertain/unconvinced drifting off that I interpreted given what I perceived to be the context of you not liking my portrayal of Superman.

Glad to know you like my Lois. *Wipes sweat off brow*
