“What kind are you making today?” asks Artemis.
M’gann smiles, the one that makes you think the reason she can fly is just because she took ‘walking on sunshine’ and made it a reality. “Wally brought over his aunt’s recipe for Peanut Butter Cookies. You roll the little dough balls in sugar and when they come out of the oven you put Hershey’s Kisses and Hugs on top!”
Her mouth watered a bit. “They smell really good. Are Kaldur or Robin here yet?” Wally she knew wouldn’t be out of school for about another hour sense his school was in a different time zone.
“Robin hasn’t gotten here yet but Kaldur is in the flight simulator with Mr. Jordon.”
“What! We’re only doing a simulator! I thought I we got to fly something today. That is so uncool.” She sit down at a bar stool on the other side of the kitchen island flicking her hair over her shoulder.
“He wanted to figure out our skill levels. Superboy and I are going to start on some of the ‘dog fight’ moves tomorrow.” A bell dings. “Oh. The cookies are done!”
“Sence when do you know how to fly?” she asks Superboy.
He shrugs. “The Genomorphs taught me.”
“Do you want a hug or a kiss?” M’gann asks.
“That is so unfair. I have to learn the hard way and you just get it downloaded into your brain.” She throws a look over at M’gann. “I’ll take one of both. What, hey!”
M’gann’s telepathy lifted her into the air so her feet are just above the level of the counter and then the girl comes swooping across and wraps her arms around Artemis. One hand is wrapped around Artemis’s shoulder and she uses it to pull her forward and meet their lips in an unexpected kiss. Artemis wonders if it counted as a foot popping kiss when her feet were already off the ground.
“Can have one too?” asks Superboy.
“Of course!” M’gann giggles. She puts Artemis back down and gives Superboy a quick hug and kiss of his own.
When they have the cookies those are pretty good too.
