“If you were human, you’d be crazy by now,” Clark told himself.
“If I were human there wouldn’t be a problem. If I were human there would be billions of appropriate people to dream about,” Kal argued.
“There’s another villain, a much better topic,’ Superman contributed. “Let’s go see what he wants. He’s really working at getting my attention, hate to disappoint him.”
“Right, the only person we like to disappoint is that delectable Kryptonian.” Clark stamped down on that line of thought hard.
The villain turned out to be a new guy who ranted about anarchy and blew a cloud of red dust in Clark’s face.
The dust felt gritty, like breathing in a sand storm. For a moment Clark’s brain went utterly still. Then every last dream and lust filled thought about the boy who wore his emblem, every though which he’d been determinedly repressing exploded into his consciousness with the force of a tornado.
