Batman was done with playing around. His boy was hurt, and continuing to be so, and if no one would tell him why, he would find out for himself. They didn't call him the world's greatest detective for nothing, after all. Taking the opportunity to sneak away his utility belt while Robin was in the shower (the only time he did not have the belt directly on his person), he swiftly and efficiently attached a near-near-undetectable microscopic microphone and camera, replacing it before it's presence was missed. While the utility belt wasn't exactly the prime location to attach the devices, it was the only way that he could be positive that he wouldn't a miss a thing of Robin's day (even if all sights and sounds would be recorded at waist-level).

He waits for nights when he knows that the Boy Wonder will be off with Young Justice before he begins to browse through the recorded files. There is hours of useless footage, when Robin is in school, on patrol with him, or training alone. He has already ruled out any of these possibilities to be the source of the bruises, and considering Aqualad's reaction to his questioning, he's almost positive that it is occurring amongst the team, no matter what Red Tornado and Black Canary may report back.

His suspicions are confirmed during the tape of last Friday, when the camera is suddenly covered and the microphone muffled as Robin is forced against something. Batman works quickly to try to enhance the audio, straining to make out the words.

"Stop it! W-Wally... No, seriously! Don't distract me."

"Aw, c'mon, Rob, I know how much you like this~"

"W-well, yeah...mmm...B-but I don't like trying to cover them up! Batman is constantly on my case about this, and I don't know how much longer I can make Alfred stay quiet."

"I can't believe Bats doesn't realize that these are just hickeys. Harmless-"

"Guh!"

"Little-"

"Ohhh!"

"Love-"

"Mmmh!"

"Bites."

"Ahh!"

Light flashes through the video rapidly, and suddenly the camera is recording the ceiling of Mount Justice. The audio is much clearer, allowing Batman to hear every last one of Robin's protests, moans, and pleas, and Wally's own groans.

"God, Rob, you look so hot covered in my marks."

"Don't say such cliched things. If you have to talk about it, at least be original."

"You are talking far too much for my enjoyment."

And suddenly the camera's angles flip again, and Batman is looking at Green Lantern themed sheets. The bottom of Robin's shirt is visible for mere moments before it's yanked out of view. He stood up quickly, hands tightening on the console threateningly.

"Haven't gotten your back yet."

"Ugh, w-what are you, a vampire?"

"I just want everyone to know that, whoever you are when you aren't Robin? Still belongs to me."

"Haha, it's not like a-anyone would be c-coming on t-to me when you make me lo-look like a leper."

"Whatever works. Speaking of working, here..."

"Ah! Ah! Ah! Wally!"

"That's right, babe. Just rub back like that - oh. Oh, yes, just like that."

The video and audio abruptly went off when Batman slammed his fist through the computer. This boy, this manipulator, had no idea whose son he'd dared to molest. At that moment, Wallace West became enemy number one.

Batman's first act is to suspend all of Robin's activities with the Young Justice. The boy is furious, but so long as he is contained in Gotham, he will be safe from West, as the members of the Justice League and their protegees know better by now than to enter his city uninvited. His next plan is for passive-aggressive mental torture. He had heard from Robin that West had been extremely excited to go to the molecular biology exhibit that had been coming to Central City. Too bad for him, due to a sudden and generous donation, the exhibit was scheduled to by-pass Central City and head straight to Gotham. Then he tampered with his costume (really, how could he leave it so unguarded?), altering it so that the next time he returned it from stealth-mode, it would be pink and purple, instead of the usual red and yellow (he would make sure their next mission took place at night). He then removed the one spare costume West had and covered the inside of it, and every pair of underwear and socks the boy possessed, with Bat-Itching-Powder. Afterwards he contacts West's school, and volunteers the boy to tutor his fellow students in their science classes. (West is not nearly as excited about it as either the school or his uncle.) He formulates several other obnoxious, but not particularly harmful, torture devices before he has had his fun.

With Allen's permission, Batman takes West out on a secluded day trip. He is obviously paranoid, as he rightfully should be, but still attempts to make small-talk with him. Batman is less than impressed, and the farther they drive in the Batmoblie, the antsier West becomes (though that could be due to leftover Bat-Itching-Powder). When they finally park in the middle of a forest in the Rockies, Batman gestures for West to follow him out of the car. They stand facing each other, West's edges blurring from his nerves, when Batman finally decides to speak.

"I know what you have been doing to Robin."

His eyes go impossibly wide - and then he vanishes in a cloud of dirt.

No one has seen West in a week. Bruce feels accomplished in that fact, though he does believe he is the only one. Flash is furious with him for losing his nephew and won't speak with him, but he never really cared for the Flash anyways, so that's more like a bonus to the successful mission.

It isn't until Dick storms into his office, clutching a CD in one had and doing his very best Bat-glare that Bruce wonders if he thought this through.

"Do you know what is on this CD?" Dick ground out, waving the disc in question.

"Not the faintest idea." He said, playing dumb.

"Over a week worth of video and sound of me, wherever I go." He throws it down onto his desk, barely containing his fury. "I thought you trusted me more than this, Bruce!"

"I thought I could as well, Dick. But when you don't even come to me to tell me what Wallace West has been doing to you -"

"With me, Bruce! It's a pretty big distinction!" He slams his hands on his desk next, trying to tower over Bruce but only managing to come eye-to-eye. "Wally and I are dating. Those bruises were hickeys he kept giving me because it drives him crazy that he doesn't know my secret identity, and because I enjoyed receiving them. And if you've killed my boyfriend and buried his body somewhere nobody will ever find it, the entire world will know Batman's secret identity."

Bruce blinked, unimpressed. "I did not kill West. I told him I had discovered that he was the cause of your bruises, and he ran. I don't know where he is now."

"Likely story!" Dick leaned forward, blue eyes like glass. "Find. Him. Or I will make sure there are no stones left unturned for Gotham reporters to investigate."

And with that, he storms right back out. Bruce sighs and rubs his headache.

He and Flash find West in South America, hiding out in a busy town during a marathon. He asks Flash to give him a moment to talk to him privately, and Flash agrees only when he has made it perfectly clear that if he doesn't see his nephew again, Batman doesn't see his son.

He corners the boy quickly, his fear and surprise aiding the Dark Knight. He speaks clearly before West can get it into his mind to run again. "Robin is not a piece of property that is to be claimed. He is his own person, and just as it is his decision to date you, it is his right to have you respect that your actions were embarrassing him both in front of his family and teammates. If you promise not to create another bruise on his body, then I will permit Robin to tell you his secret identity."

Again, West's eyes are the size of saucer plates. "I - what - really?"

Batman nodded. "The two of you may even have my...blessings, under the condition that you never hurt or betray Robin, or touch any part of his anatomy below his waist and above his knees until he is eighteen, at the very least. Do I make myself clear?"

West nodded. "Crystal."

"Good. Now, come outside, your uncle wishes to have words with you."

Dick and Wally are curled up together on the large, comfortable couch in the game room of Wayne Manor. Despite the couch's size, however, the boys are pressed together, Dick lounging in Wally's lap. They are playing a violent video game on the massive TV screen, Dick holding his controller in front of him and Wally holding his in front of Dick, his arms wrapped around the younger's middle (but a good half foot above the belly button). They are dressed in their boxers and nightshirts, a blanket wrapped around their waists and legs, not having bothered to change from the sleepover the night before. Dick is not wearing his sunglasses, and his eyes sparkle with mirth and his laughter rings through the house as he wins yet another round.

The prize for his victory? A cleverly concealed hickey located inbetween his shoulder blades.

"Another round?"

"You're on."
