I definitely got an A on my first Planetary Sciences test. And I definitely got a 40/50 on my first article, then rewrote it and got a 50/50. The second article is going to be an A too... I can fucking feel it. Not that I think I did excellently, I just have a feeeeeeling.
THANK SWEET JESUS because otherwise, I would kick myself for having spent so much effort on school and yielding unworthy results.
Anyways, I'm supposed to be doing a ridiculously hard, ambiguously-worded quiz right now... but i don't feel like it. HA!
I was reading this book called Female Chauvinist Pigs which talks a lot about Girls Gone Wild (so much so that they abbreviate it as GGW, haha) and the owner who is completely rich. The author focuses on the many, many girls who just flock to the cameras: the GGW staff has no problem getting ladies to flash them. Isn't this strange? I know these girls are obviously not the majority, but you wouldn't think that there would be so many of them, right? Why are boobs so awesome though? They exist purely to feed a baby... I mean, that's their purpose. It's because we've created this Puritan image where are bodies are such a secret. So once they're exposed, it becomes shocking and "wild." It's a simple concept but it's created such an ugly culture. The author of that book thinks the joke is on the girls who flash the camera, the ones who think they're joining in on the regular ol' male raunchiness. But they're not, because they just look like they're drunk and dumb. And I'll make the argument that most of the pervs who watch that shit definitely get off on thinking those girls have been taken advantage of.
Isn't it funny how specific you have to be sometimes? I read an article today which said "the breast-feeding task force will vote..." HAHAHAHA the author MEANT the task force which deals with breast-feeding... not that the task force is actually breast-feeding. Damn it I totally cracked up, until I realized I was the biggest nerd ever.
