Soo I really enjoyed this, thank you for sharing! Forgive me if I'm not too articulate, I was just about to go to bed and then this popped up on my friend's list and it interested me enough that I had to read it. And I'm glad I did.
I think you did an awesome job with this issue. And you're right, it's not one that really comes up in yaoi fanfic, but I think it could be really valid. And being an angst lover, I wouldn't mind seeing more stuff like this. As long as Ed has somewhat of a happy ending...
I especially loved Riza's part in this. She was definitely needed, because as you wrote, Roy has no clue what to do. 'T-tits and ass? How can they not be good enough for you, Edward?' I liked how you painted the picture of Roy being out of his element and bewildered and a little weirded out, but still wanting only to help Ed. Ed really doesn't make it easy. And was that a hint of Roy/Ed in there...? Very cute!
I'm interested to know how you can see Ed being canonly gay? Not that I disagree, but I always kind of swing back and forth on his sexuality myself. I like Ed/Roy, but I also like Ed and Winry together, though I think you had an excellent explanation as to why he'd never be into her.
Shit, I didn't mean to get so rambly! Sorry for the long comment. I just thought this was a great piece, everyone was in character, and it was a neat exploration.

No need to apologize for long comments! They're always welcome! I'm very glad you liked. :)

I'm still working on the ending. I always had a point A and a point B for this fic, it's just a matter of getting there at this point. (Come on Roy! Figure this shit out!) I'm glad you liked Riza. Roy has always been easy for me to pin down, but Riza is more difficult.

I also swing a little bit on Ed's sexuality. Honestly, I just can't stand Ed/Win. I like Winry as a character, but I have never been able to stand the thought of them together. I think that she and Al are much more suited for each other. Ed and Winry are just too similar, in my mind, to really work in the long run. Mind, it's difficult to talk about, because you have to specify the series. In first anime canon, (which is my favorite canon, because I think that manga/Brotherhood just slaughtered Ed's character by the end) I can see him being canonically gay. Mostly, it's just -- easier for me to conceive of. I think about these characters too often for my own good. XD I have a lot of gut feelings that I hope I justify well in my writing.

I also prefer the first anime... I haven't finished Brotherhood yet, but it's just too much for me. I still plan to finish it, but I just liked the first anime in how it focused so much more on Ed and Al's story, and in Brotherhood there's just all of these characters coming in and some huge war, and Ed and Al are supposed to save the world or whatever... So far I think it's stayed mostly true to his character, but he sure has gone through a LOT, and I get a little tired of seeing him suffer in the anime. Except in excellent fanfic, because I do like angst.

Anyway, long and rambly sentences aside, I'm looking forward to the next part here. :D
