Man, sometimes the tiredness does catch up with me. Today I started nodding off in the half hour or so leading up to Cecelia's normal nap time. I was sitting up, but I couldn't fight it off I guess, until Cece startled me awake as she stood in front of me eating a banana peel that she had obviously pulled out of the trash. Shortly thereafter we did lay down for our nap. I think it took me 3.2 seconds to fall asleep, and when I woke up to the sound of Cecelia's little voice calling "Mommeee" from her room I sat up and honestly had no idea what day/time it was. I thought it was Thanksgiving afternoon and I thought that I wasn't going to have time to mash the sweet potatoes or get the broccoli casserole in the oven because I'd have to start getting ready for work right away. I was so confused. I looked at the clock, recognized the numbers as a time of day, but had no ability to process them at all. It was really an awful feeling. But by the 4th or 5th "Mommeee!" I was straight.
We'll see how tomorrow goes. In-law dinner at 2pm. Parents' dinner at 5pm. Work at 9pm. Home by 2am. Out shopping by 5am. Pick up baby from parents in afternoon. Get some sleep. Back to work Friday night/Saturday morning at 1am. We'll see if I know what day it is come Saturday when I get done work.
As limited as my time is I have resorted to cheating by buying a pumpkin pie. I don't think I've ever bought a pumpkin pie, but I'm making two casseroles, a delicious cream cheese dessert dip, and I'm even giving sweet potato chips a whirl - so the thought of tacking on baking a pumpkin pie as a task just didn't appeal to me. I can't believe I bought a pie.
Side note: my tummy and the little person who dwells within make it somewhat difficult at times to type on my laptop. The laptop has to rest on my belly, and when the little one really gets to kicking the whole laptop moves. It's kind of fun though.
