Okay I said that I will study extremely hard these few weeks because I have like 6 major exams coming up, but I can't. I really can't. I couldn't the second I saw the news this morning that Jin is suspected to leave KAT-TUN in Spring (Southern Hem). It also does not help that my birthday is in the early part of Spring either, so what a way to ruin everything.
I am silently crying right now as I read the comments that people are writing and watch the videos of KAT-TUN together as a 6-member group. How, just HOW, can you people say things like "Jin didn't matter anyway, we're better off without him?".
Personally, I was never a Jin fan. I liked Ueda, Junno, Koki, Maru and finally Kame as my ichiban, but never Jin. So why am I crying now that's leaving? Because he was THERE when KAT-TUN made it big time. He is a part of KAT-TUN and that is something NO-ONE can ever dismiss. His name is in the band's name, he is still a member of Johnny's and if he wasn't made popular because of KAT-TUN, he would NEVER have made it to America.
I hate him for his arrogance and I hate the fact that he used to be so close to the other members but ever since coming back from his first LA trip he has been acting superior and cool, as though everyone else is just weird and immature. LISTEN UP JIN, you were ONE of them, and just because you don't care about your bad boy image, just because you have girls eating out of your hands, and JUST BECAUSE YOU WENT TO LA, it doesn't make you any better. I can understand why people think KAT-TUN is better off without him, and I can see why he would think KAT-TUN is a hindrance to his oh-i'm-so-american-with-my-new-english-skills success in the US.
But understand this too. Jin wasn't always like this. It wasn't totally his fault for going to the US in the first place and things just spiralled from there. Before that, he was an awesome member of KAT-TUN. The members had chemistry with each other and sure, they had their fights and Jin had his limelight, but that's what made them KAT-TUN. We liked them because of their edgy music. It wasn't conventional and for Johnny's, it wasn't very Johnny music-like, it was inspired by Jrock. The members even said that they want to stay as KAT-TUN forever. WHAT FRIGGIN HAPPENED?!
I can't really say I didn't expect this would happen. I mean, with Jin acting depressed 24/7 it was blatantly obvious that he would either a) go to america for like 10 billion years but have the name KAT-TUN tagged along, b) leave the group or c) be satisfied with learning English, see that he will NOT ever make it famous in US and return to happily join KAT-TUN as the bakanishi we loved him for. Knowing his attitude, obviously c) would not cut it and since he wants the US over his friggin 9 year relationship (YES, NINE YEAR RELATIONSHIP, HE COULDN'T EVEN STAY UNTIL THE 10 YEAR MARK!!!) with KAT-TUN, well then lets give him that and WATCH HIM FAIL.
I'm serious. I can just see him failing hard. I swear, if he DOESN'T fail and in fact, manages to get in the top three of the US charts for a WHOLE WEEK (you know, like Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas or even Owl City) then I swear I will go to every single one of his concerts from then on, make a public apology on whatever website i can get to, and personally give him an apology card if i get that far. No, I'll make it better. I swear I will sing his song on the street OUT LOUD if he becomes famous and publicly humiliate myself. Not kidding.
To those various people whose comments I have seen, here are my responses:
- "KAT-TUN is better off without him" <-- Without him, KAT-TUN wouldn't even exist. I know he's been an ass (well to me he has) for the past...2 years? but, he's a part of kat-tun and have you guys totally forgotten why we have that hyphen in the kat-tun name? the hyphen represents the 'fans'. how can you people even call yourself fans of kat-tun when you don't even want the group to last together?!!!
- "KAT-TUN is slowing him down. He'll do better without them." <-- that's because he's the only one who got the chance to go to America. If stupid Johnny gave ALL the members a chance, they would all do well and no-one would, as you call it, relatively "slow down" the group. Reality check people, Akanishi isn't better than ANYONE, he was just LUCKY. No, i take that back. Leaving KAT-TUN is probably the STUPIDIST choice EVER. He's not going to survive alone.
- "That cannot happen though! Without Jin, KAT-TUN will be KT-TUN! How will you even pronounce it?!" <-- DUDE. KAT-TUN isn't just about the name! To me, KAT-TUN represents the members and yes, without Jin, it will be kt-tun by members but by name they are still....*sigh* kat-tun. it's not the same i know, but the point isn't with the name! why are you people even worrying about things like how to pronounce their name?!! I even heard one person saying that you can pronounce it as 'kitten'...yeah, no.
- "I will live in denial." <-- yeah so far, i'm opting to this one. I love kat-tun as a group and I do love the members, even Jin to some extent and i hate the idea that he's leaving such a great group to further his own selfish desires. He has no idea what he's doing and I don't think he will survive for very long. I've heard that many of the people who went to his concerts were either Jpop lovers, KAT-TUN fans or just Japanese people. That doesn't sound very promising to me.
My Advice:
Jin, just come back to KAT-TUN. I know some people (including your boss) think that it's unfair to the other members if you fail and just return to the group as though nothing happened, but knowing how much you hate to lose, I know that truly failing and coming back to Japan with the whole media reporting on your stuff-up will be much harder for you to accept than it is for other people to accept. Your sense of man pride is so stupidly strong, you probably would refuse to come back to KAT-TUN anyway. So I'm saying this now: Jin, I honestly do not think you will make it big time and I'm pretty sure you'll fail, but if you do succeed, good job and NEVER forget what got you to the US in the first place. Otherwise, it doesn't matter if you fail in the US now, or fail in 3 years, just come back to KAT-TUN, PLEASE. You can teach KAT-TUN and take them all to the US with you. KAT-TUN isn't KAT-TUN without you. It really isn't, so please don't leave them.
It really makes zero sense to me bakanishi: sacrificing a 9 year idol group that got you to where you are now for a very VERY small chance of hitting it big time solo. No. Don't do it, please.
