day two without starbucks, and sadly not missing it at all.
i'm not entirely sure how long that will last after the novelty of making my own food wears off.
having fresh food around the house is hard work though. i feel so much pressure to eat things before they go bad. I used a quarter of an avocado yesterday, and the rest of course started turning brown on me pretty much right away. i tried to rescue it with some lemon juice but the damage was already done. at 11:30 last night, the only thing i could think of to salvage it was to mush it up with some red onion, tomato, salt & pepper to make a kind of makeshift guacamole. now i needed to use that today, because by tomorrow it would be browning again, so for lunch i slathered the inside of a pita with it and filled it with romaine and shortcuts grilled chicken. it was quite delish, and i might never had tried if that three-fourths of an avocado hadn't started browning on me.
so it's a blessing in disguise, really.
