don't worry, there's a happy ending
the past two days have just been so awful. i have managed to fuck up just about EVERYTHING. i screwed up the insurance on a package i was sending for my little ebay business & my mom had to rush back to the post office & fix it while i was at work. res ed called because they never received my resident-to-commuter form (even though i TRIED to give it to them before i left in december but they wouldn't take it without a letter from my advisor...whatevs) and were gonna charge me for housing & my mom had to fix it while i was at work. then a woman i sold a pair of boots to didn't receive them on time because my mom sent them while i was at work and sent them a different way than i had origiannly said i would (even though the woman NEVER mentioned that she needed by a certain day...whatevs). plus she was a big bitch about it. and i'm pretty sure she's lying about having needed them already. i have been buying stuff on ebay for YEARS and i would NEVER fail to mention if i needed something by the end of the week. when the item is in new jersey. and i am in california. again...WHATEVS.
BUT...
this woman who bought one of my dresses wrote me the sweetest note about how much she loves the dress and how beautifully it was packaged AND she actually said this:
"I know as you continue to sell on eBay you will meet some not-so-nice buyers - my sellers have told me of some horrid experiences - but please, please keep in mind there are those of us who SO appreciate beautiful vintage, and we LOVE and ADORE our terrific sellers. I am happy, thrilled, and your wonderful customer service has made my day, my week, my MONTH!"
it's like she new what i was going through and knew just what to say to give me the lift i needed!
why do i feel the need to segue into "people" from hello dolly?
THIS IS A SPECIAL EDIT FOR REENIE NAYDEN: i got my barbara streisand movies confused. indeed, people is from funny girl. not hello dolly. either way, i would most certainly be impersonating barabara to the best of my abilities whilst singing it. i may even convert for true authenticity.
