BIGGEST LITTLE FUR CON 2014: TOTALLY RADICAL! (80s Pop Culture)
Arguably one of the best con themes ever. I was in high school thru college age during the 80s.

As the con was earlier in the year than 2013, there was a chance of tire chain requirements for the Donner pass, the route to Reno. Or as we joked, the Highway Through the Danger Zone.

Thu 27 Mar
Croc, Arrow and I left in my Mazda 3. I bought chains from a prior trip to Oregon during a Christmas snow storm. We stopped at Islands, a burger place in Roseville. Croc was glued to the TV screen for the NCAA basketball tournament. Gators vs UCLA.
We stopped again at the Donner summit, I was getting tired, and Arrow took over. I cursed the sad state of my tires, and the wet (but not quite icy) roads.

We got in just as registration was closing, and to my embarrassment I had not actually preregistered. Likely distracted during the process and never clicked Submit. Anyway, I got the next level up membership package, with some neat swag. Just no floppy diskette badge.

(notes say bed like 1am?)

Fri 28 Mar
10:30am got up, showered. dressed in Theme: Wore jean jacket and Roger Rabbit tee
11:00am meal, Port of Subs.
12:00pm Go Kart signup. Croc and I were the last two in line as they cut it off. Folks behind us were sad. I ended up giving my spot to Oven Otter.

2:05-4:00pm - Pachinko, dressed in theme, 80s diva dress (aka Cyndi Lauper) plus leg warmers and wrist glovelets. As con swag, they gave away fursuit-sized headbands.

6:00pm (ish) dinner, Rim SUshi bar with Arrow QUarks Roofus Tsuyoto Hiro. Had: Rainbow Roll, Volcano Roll, Tuna & Red Snapper nigiri, Rim special, Rainbow Hand Roll.
While there we met up with Kamo, Woofy, Kaptain Kelly & Faye bat, also Zot and his fiance.
9:45pm - made observation: There must be some cosmic irony that I was too full of sushi to attend the Otter Party.
10:10-11:15pm - got suited up in Waji. Went to otter party anyway. Hung briefly with Shoreleave, saw Oven Otter. It got too hot in there, crowded to do much.
11:55pm - got out of suit, went back only to find otter party had JUST been shut down. There were security guys in front, turning people away.
2:00am - Bed

Sat 29 Mar

3:25pm - parade photo
3:30pm - Fursuit Parade (Pachinko)
4:00pm (ish) - MixedCandy group photo.

7:00pm - saw a bit of the Dance Comp, streaming
7:10pm - Elements Buffet: Croc Bacon Kiswara Arrow Tsuyoto Roofus Furahi Chance
8:30pm - so full from buffet.
9:00pm - Met up at Chairo's room
9:30-10:30pm - group outing with Helix, Nougat and Sly Cooper (Nevermint).
11:45pm - pondered party. this required pants to get to parties.

The folowing is reconstructed from several drunk (protected) tweets, photos could not be direct-linked:

1:15am - Sailor Jerry mixed drink, apparently after six shots of Jager.
1:25am - jello shot. I think this was where I may have gone wrong, if not already.
1:55am - "Fofferin = Selinar"
2:39am - (selfie wearing Hazmat's head)
3:16am - (selfie wearing Kivu otter's head)
3:35am - (wrote note to self: "puke")
3:48am - "drank too much...deep breaths..."
4:07am - (selfie leaning against bathroom counter)

Sun 30 Mar
9:22am - queasily started replying to last night's tweets
Arrow, Croc & Bacon wanted to head back early. Since they were all loading into Bacon's car, they needed me to take some suits back. I gave them my keys but stayed in bed, at least until I needed to get ready for 11:00am check out.
9:51am - made observation "I was so drunk last night Rockwolf called me to see if I was okay."
Drank some leftover Gatorade, which would not stay down.
Packed up, also met up with Henrieke & Karpour, who would be taking the MegaBus to SF on Monday, so I took some of their luggage with us too. JAGGERS' ROOM WAS HUGE.
Had some Port of Subs, simple sandwich. Was able to keep it down. Headed out alone, pretty drive, but the weather was bearing down on me, so I had to keep going.
Hit the Vista point at Emigrant Gap (Donner Pass rest area was closed), and another rest stop along the way. Take it easy, not my first hangover. Stopped for an early dinner at Del Taco. Seemed to be good hangover food. Stopped at Bass Pro Shops in Manteca and bought a feesh.

Mon 31 Mar
Weather turned worse on Monday, which spelled disaster for Henrieke & Karpour, who were taking the Megabus to San Francisco. I was to pick them up, but with the jam in the Donner pass, their bus was delayed into the evening. The snow in the pass turned into rain in the SF Bay, and I got really nervous driving up to the City, hydroplaning at one point that I just let off the gas to coast to exit ramp speed and pulled off around San Mateo to catch my breath.
H&K were tired and starving on arrival, and we stopped at McDonalds (I think) on the way home. Finally I got home and went to bed at quarter to three.

After work Wednesday, H&K, Croc and I met up with Dax and Latte at Patxi's in Campbell. Great authentic Chicago deep dish pizza!
