FC15 Thursday - Prelude to the weekend

So I decided to take a different approach with FurCon 2015.

I was gonna let things happen. Let the universe take me where ever. I had a few specific obligations (Fursuit Performance panel Friday) and a couple fursuit things I wanted to. And If they worked out, great, if not, not the end of the world. (I wasn't going to bail on my panel though.) Most of all, I didn't do an FA Meme.

Thu 15 Jan 2015 - Prelude to the Weekend
I started stressing when I realized I had agreed to pick up some friends at SFO, drop them at the FC hotel, then come home and drop off Arrow with our first batch of stuff at the hotel. I had packed nine suits: three for myself, three to share (wear myself and/or loan), three to loan out for the whole con. Typically I just get all the suit stuff together and pack sporadically into multiple bags simultaneously, but instead I took it all sequentially. Packed two suits each in the bigger bags, making sure i had everything for those suits before zipping them closed and moving the bag downstairs. One/two at a time, just the suits. Clothes and such would come later. That made quick work of packing and had almost every suit done. Timing worked out nicely that Arrow had his stuff ready, we loaded his stuff and my first load of fursuits in the car. He checked us in and moved stuff into the room, while I went up to SFO.

I had a good discussion with Oz on the way back down to the hotel. I'd known Oz for many years, and he's working on relocating to the USA, and facing his own challenges with staying current with an ever-changing furry fandom. Once I dropped him and Mozee off, I went home to complete packing, and bring Croc and his stuff to the hotel after he got off work. Instead of trying to estimate when I would get stuff done, I said let's just shoot to leave around 9pm with whatever we have packed, and if we have more we can make another load. We left a little earlier with everything we needed, I dropped him off with a luggage cart, parked my car at VTA parking, just missed one train, and rode the next train to the convention center.

Croc needed the room for a private discussion. So I ended up kinda killing time, got my badge before closing, but I was left in a holding pattern as I wasn't sure if he'd wanted to eat after his roomside discussion. I considered playing some Ingress, which I'd been occupying my downtime for the past several months, but instead went to the party floor. I had a bit too much (one very strong drink) at an Absinthe party where Tsuyoto was pouring. I followed him back to his room, and I likely ran my mouth a bit too much, emboldened by the drink. Then we went out to Pita Pit.

Once back at the hotel I finally came back to the room. Part of me wanted to suit up, specifically the fun purple bunny part of me named Twilight. Collings, in his new purple bunny Jake, joked about "tapping out" as he left the dance floor. I've been tangling with jealousy issues for a while, and Twilight was not having any of that.

Pleeeeeez Jimmy, let's go dance and have fun!
I was pretty tired but gave in. Twilight tried to encourage me to go dancing on Sunday night at MFF but I was stuck in my own thoughts and didn't listen. My characters are my imaginary friends who help me along, if I listen and trust them.

Twilight had an awesome dance with the people left in the last half hour of the Thursday night dance. I think I am most free and happy when I'm that purple bunny on the dance floor. DekeShep rocked this bun, and I crashed like 3am.

... to be continued!
