I need some help, y'all.
Got a lady here in the office who wants to buy a laptop. She needs a lean, mean, graphics machine. It needs a powerful processor, but I don't know what that means anymore- it's been so long since I've bought a computer that I haven't thought about specs in a few years, and I'm sure what's hip/cool/functional today is not what I remember.
So. If you were going to recommend a kickass laptop to me, what would you say?
This thing needs to run large memory-hog, graphics-intensive programs (it's for an architect, so think AutoCAD 2008, Photoshop/Adobe creative suite, etc. 3-D Studio Viz or other 3-D rendering and basic animations, etc.)
I need stats on what is considered "good" computer guts these days.
It's convenient that I've gotten this request today, because I've just been thinking about considering a new computer for myself, and I would have pretty much the same requirements that she does.
The only difference is, she wants to buy it like, tomorrow so she can take it back to Argentina, and I can wait another few months.
