I feel a sense of guilt everytime I see an image of this sort...
It is equivolent to the feeling
of being trapped on a rooftop during a serious flood,
not knowing what to do.
Confused and afraid,
hoping that help will come my way.
My life hanging on a melting ice berg,
A slight movement or change,
determines my fate,
of living or dying.
Am I not worthy of living,
as much as everyone,
on planet Earth?
I sit here waiting,
waiting for help.
I moan for help,
I cry for my life
to be spared this one time,
for I will be a better person
once alive again.
Should I swim or,
should I wait?
For I have waited a lifetime
to be spared and saved.
I'm too tired to hang on,
I bid farewell
For I am sleepy now.
I haven't had the urge to write poetry since I left high school, so please forgive me if it seems rudimentary. While writing this, I reflect back and forth between human being and animal being. I don' t know why but every single word brought tears to my eyes as I visualize the thought of this suffering, doubt and hopelessness.
I wish this means a little bit to everyone... a little bit of incremental change means alot collectively.
