I've had the Porsche for a couple weeks now. I expected I would be driving it rain, sleet or snow for the first few weeks, but I've been really good so far. The only rain the car has seen was on the day I bought it - plus the few times I've accidently hit the windshield or headlight washers trying to adjust the cruise control.
I've had a chance to crawl over/under it, and it's not quite as perfect as I thought when I got it, but it's still incredible for an 8 year old car. I've touched up some rock chips and am in the process of applying a clear stone guard film to the hood & bumper. So far the two main problems with the car is the tiny coolant leak, and cracks in the CV boots. The CV boot problem is normal for the 6-speed at this age from what I've read. I looked at the procedure to replace the boots, but it's more than I'm comfortable doing (removing axles? no thanks), so it will need to see a mechanic.
I'm still learning how to read/drive the car. It appears to have massive amounts of grip going around corners, but every now and then things feel a little squirrely - probably means I'm doing something wrong. It's really really fun on curvy freeway onramps, you can do 60 and it stays flat.
I'm also really enjoying that it's a convertible. Driving around town I feel much more in touch with what's going on around me. So far the best drive I've had was when Richard and I went up to and around Camano Island a couple weekends ago - great weather and nice scenery. I hope the weather is nice enough to take it to the Memorial Day camping trip, but I still have to figure out how to get Mattie up there.
