Was at mtg today, absorbed an important point which RC made when he "vetted" my paper today. It was about the simplicity and clarity of language. No point using flowery language and bombastic words. In CS, key thing is to drive the message clearly to the reading party. This reminds me of Goh Keng Swee's speeches in the "Wealth of East Asian Nations". Remarkable. Every single point is put across in clear concise English very very intelligently. Need not be an academic in order to understand. Guess I need to pay more attention to my paper writings and essays. Hope I can reach GKS's standard.
