Last Saturday I went with
erynn999 and
alfrecht up to Bowman Bay in Deception Pass. I won't go into detail about the day we had as they do a wonderful job in their ljs. I had a wonderful day, although I do agree with the consensus that  Island Greek is outstanding and Charlie's is not a place for desserts; sub-par indeed.

Why is it that people do not teach their children to respect the natural world around them? Walking on the trail at Bowman Bay I  watched a young girl maybe 8 or so wait impatiently as her mother caught up. While waiting the girl started pulling the fronds off of a fern in an act of displaced aggression. I told her as I walked by that what she was doing to the fern was like pulling out her own hair. She stopped pulling on the fronds. I hope my words stick with her.

Now I suppose I should switch my focus to the working world where I am dealing with tons of displaced and modified plant materials.

nature, work
