My Halloween

Nov 01, 2003 13:31

For the first time in many years, I stayed home this Halloween. My parents go crazy. My mom gets bags and bags of candy and puts about 4-5 pieces in little decorative bags and hands them out to kids. My dad is usually the one who drives me and my friends around to different neighborhoods in the city. Per tradition, we made homemade pizza in stone oven out back. Then we watched horror movies while my mom handed the candy out. We knew there was a baby or cute little kid whenever we'd hear "Awwww, how adorable!" or "Oh my goodness, how precious!".

My dad kept trying to tell me scary stories and urban legends, but hello, this generation has something our parents didn't have when they were growing up, a nifty website called Snopes. Although, when he dared me to go in the bathroom, look into the mirror, turn out the lights, and say "Bloody Mary" 3 times I wouldn't... because well... I saw what happened in that X-Files episode.
