Hee! I don't even celebrate this holiday, and yet....

Happily snagged from billy_red_ocean

Welcome to the 2006 Holiday Edition of Getting to Know Your Friends! You know the drill. Don't be a scrooge!!!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Guinness. But if I had to pick either? Hot chocolate.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Don't have a tree, don't celebrate the holiday (wish I did), but I'm thinking if it were my Santa, of course he'd wrap 'em! That's part of the fun!

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
Oh I love those rain-like white lights.

4. Do you hang mistletoe?
No, but definitely a tradition I should start for Hannukah.

5. When do you put your decorations up?
First candle of the menorah on Hannukah.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
Mom's potato pancakes. They're to die for.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
Driving into the city (Manhatten) to see the storefronts for Macy's and Barney's. Oh and making Hannukah donuts with my dad.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
Sadly, I've always known...

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Uhm no, and I don't get 8 different presents for each night of Hannukah, either. Just money from my grandma.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?
If I had a tree, I'd make it all elegant.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
Come on, how can you dread snow?

12. Can you ice skate?
Yeah.... 5 years in NY taught me that.... I still take my skates out for a ride every once in a while.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
It's always money, it's tradition.... But I managed to collect enough (saved from my birthday earlier that year) and got a new computer a while ago.

14. What's the most important thing about the holiday's for you?
Family dinner at either my sister's or my grandma's or here at our place (though I'd rather it were not here)

15. What's your favorite Holiday Dessert?
Hannukah donuts, of course. They're different from the usual donuts. They're special.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Singing Hannukah songs in 4 voices with my cousins and sister.

17. What tops your tree?
I don't think I'd put anything special on the top of the tree, even if I had one.

18. Which do you prefer giving or Receiving?
Both. I'm grown up so I get money but for the kids we buy toys and computer games and video games and I love seeing their expressions.

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song?
My favorite Christmas Carol is probably The 12 Pains of Christmas (hehe). Of the "real" ones, probably Silent Night. Of the Hannukah songs? Maoz Tzur. 4 voices, sounds awesome.

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?
Dude I miss those so much.

21. Do you like fruitcake? Would you give it to someone as a gift?
Kinda love that stuff lol.

22. How long will you keep up your Christmas decorations?
I'd probably keep it forever, because by the time I'd realize it's time to take it down it would be Christmas again...

23. If you could have a reindeer as a pet, which one would you have?
Rudolph, come on, red nose?

24. Do you stay up to see if maybe you'd hear sleigh bells?
I stay up but not for that reason....

25. Are you one of the people always wearing a santa hat?
Oh yeah totally! When Christmas comes around I always have one on.... It's a silly tradition I started when I moved back to Israel after 5 years in NY. Did it when I was in the military, did it when I was working in Internet Zahav and plan on doing it this year, too.

I miss Christmas.
