Big October - Round 2
Just like two years ago, when October was the bestestest month ever (school started, birthday, a few other things), and after skipping a year (though last year's birthday was better than two years ago), October 2006 will be the greatest ever. Again. Here's why:
1. It'll be birthday time again. David and I are celebrating together again (he'll be 34). Unlike the last three years where birthdays were huge crazy drunken bashes, this year will be smaller and much more complicated. I got Dave and Shiri hung up on this idea about two months ago. We're going to do a mystery dinner party. 1 murder, 10 suspects, a bunch of costumes, ridiculous chnaracters, and a ton of food that Shiri and I are going to prepare. Party'll probably be on October 13th, which is Friday the 13th, which is just a perfect date for a murder myster dinner. We're writing the parts specifically for our friends, so it'll be absolutely hilirous - the Russian Mob dude, the petty thief... Oh this is the time to shine at script-writing!
2. October 15th, the Sunday after the birtdahy party, is my actual birthday.
3. School is finally back. Yours truly will be an Open University student, majoring in film and animation, minoring (hopefully I'll have the time for that) in mythological history of the world, which is part of my major anyway. Oh and the first day of school is October 15th which is already quite a happy day.
3. Another reason (to add to the other two) why October 15th is a good and happy day - Liad's brother is getting married that evening which is a big thing and also a good and wonderful way to celebrate my birthday - drunk at a wedding!
4. Either on October 16th or October 23rd I'm flying to Amsterdam for a 4 day training session from work (actually, from a client of ours). If this really does happen, I'm taking another 4 days of vacation to hang around Amsterdam, with Liad and Shlomi joining me. Anyone else want to join? This of course depends on 1. me not leaving this stupid company, and 2. the client not "firing" Overline and finding a new IT company/person.
5. Neil Gaiman is coming to "ICON" - the biggest sci-fi convension in Israel. I'm so so so going to see him.
I can probably come up with a few other reasons why this is going to be the best month of 2006 but these 5 reasons are a good start.
