And Thus the Next Week Begins

Day one of week two is done. I was a little worried that I'm not as far in my readings as I should be but then in class today it appears that I'm actually one of the farthest ahead in my readings. That helped calm some anxieties. I'm still stressing about Pharmacology. Simple, simple math and yet it makes me panic. Chris told me to buy a white board and just write equations over and over and over and he will sit there with me and make sure I get them right. That was sweet...but I'm not sure I can make myself do it. I need more practice making beds. I know it sounds silly but I only got to practice on the start side once and I feel like I really need to do that a few more times. Maybe I can get Adolpho to practice with me. Other than that, vitals are going fine, I'm still practicing on anyone who will let me. My biggest problems are finding the brachial pulse (which everyone else is having trouble with too) and getting the manometer at a level that I can see it. But I'm finding radial pulses no problem and hearing the bp's with good accuracy so hopefully that will all stay the same when I do my skills test in a few weeks. My instructor told us today that her record for making someone cry is 7 minutes into their first day of clinicals. Eek! God she is a force!! Tomorrow and I suppose Thursday as well we are going to be working on transfers. I'm pretty excited about that, not sure why, but I am. Hopefully I do ok with it since I'm little and not in the greatest shape. It's all about proper body mechanics, gotta remember that.
We have our first midterm in theory next week so after that I'll have a better idea of whether I'm studying appropriately or whether I'm just sucking:P We also have our first quiz in Pharm next week so I need to get caught up in that reading...and practice, practice, practice my math. Welp, that's it for today. More tomorrow.
