The nurses finally seem to understand Eris is not made of glass and as such, he is up and walking about. He is dressed in lavender scrubs, and his right arm is still immobilized. If you're in the clinic, you'll probably run into him.
[And what is likely several hours separated from any other visits Jack might be receiving that day is the visit an errant Ruka! The only present she has today is Jack's own coat, returned from secret dry cleaning and mending at the tailor. Ruka knocks on the door to his room.]
[Ruka opens the door, but -- how odd! When Ruka enters the room, she's walking in backwards, her arms wrapped around something bulky. Once she's in the room, however, she turns, nudging the door closed behind her with her foot. She smiles.]
I'm glad! That means they should be letting you out soon? Right?
O-Oh. Um.
[Ruka's cheeks turn a little red with embarrassment, and she turns over the bundle a little. The lapels of Jack's coat are revealed, and the bundle -- which is quite large and white, even if it is wrapped in a think layer of clear plastic -- should be easily recognizable.]
I took it to the cleaners, when you were still out of it... it was in really bad shape. Um. I hope you don't mind...
Oh! And witness Eris' comedic struggle to get out of bed. There is significant flailing involved before he manages to approach Ruka. Thank you. I was beginning to think I'd lost it.
[Ruka is torn between trying to help Jack get up -- which would require putting the coat down somewhere, which is a bit tricky as it has somehow wound around her arms -- or just watching. There is much crinkling of plastic while she hesitates.]
I'm sorry. I probably should have brought it up earlier, or left a note...
You're still injured, you know. It's okay to need help -- even when you're not hurt at all.
[If it's any consolation, it takes Ruka a bit of work to get the plastic off the coat. The material no longer smells of smoke. Ruka goes to throw away the plastic, leaving the coat on its hanger, draped across the bed.]
There's a library on the seventh floor. If you want, I can pick up something for you. Or anything else, really. We have most everything.
[Ruka may not notice said lack of interest, since she usually avoids talking about her own cards, anyway. She may, however, notice if any of his cards start complaining.]
Well now that you mention it. Eris' cards are starting to awaken to the fact that Ruka is in the room. She might start to hear a familiar chatter in the direction of his deck box.
[Ruka notices chatter, but it's difficult to make out any specifics. At least they're not screaming in agony! Regardless, Ruka is going to surreptitiously approach the deck under the guise of examining the room. She hasn't really had a chance to, yet.]
Books, puzzles, portable games... do you know how long you'll be here?
A few more days at the most. Orion is going to look after me until he's reasonably satisfied I'm not going to up and die. Eris notices what she's attempting to do and decides to let her continue. He's sure his cards have a lot to say and if they were more comfortable talking with her, he wouldn't stop either of them.
Jack? It's Ruka. May I come in?
