[Where there is food in plain sight, there is Papyrus.
She's resisting the call of beer for now, having imbibed a bit too much lately. It had been very tempting - until after chowing down she noticed the dirndl.]
...tch, so they don't actually mean "free".
[Doesn't stop her from ripping into her plate of food, mostly meats, though. And not being too graceful about it either. Some may fall on the table.]
[Something is off about this. Not only is he dressed in the future's clothing, his skin is too pale, even for a noble who spends his pampered existence behind palace walls...
She's not dealing with a clear-cut Pharaoh. But that doesn't mean she'll cut him any slack.]
Ah, you've learned to make requests of your servants, not orders! Does that make your lifestyle justified, little Prince? If you ask them kindly?
[She'll be filling a second plate, but whether she intends to actually hand it over remains to be seen.]
[...you continue to baffle the tiny thing. And your strange coloring was curious enough. (Of course, that was a cool strange, while this chat is a scary strange.)
So he's giving a "Did I do something bad?" frown.]
Um, yeah... Mama lets me have a treat, if I ask nicely.
[So, is he gonna get any of that? Cause, he's afraid not. Especially since he's got questions.]
[Papyrus shrugs, still selecting sausages and schnitzel cuts.]
Ah, just something you'd take for granted. The people who obey your every whim, who look to you as a beacon sent from the Gods. Who believe without question in your justice.
[She holds the plate just over his head.]
Who're happy to break their backs for you because they believe you care.
[...is she a priestess or something? She sounds kinda like one right now.
But, she's got lots of wonderful food floating on high, so instead of asking what all that means, he tries to puzzle it out, annnnnd-]
Jou-kun and Honda-kun and Anzu-chan and Bakura-kun and Otogi-kun are all nice to me, and Mama and Grandpa and Issei take care of me, and I care lots about all them.
so i might? bring in her world's atem, around brunch-age...touzoku_kakumeiOctober 2 2011, 01:35:58 UTC
[She's never heard names that sound even remotely like those before. She's probably got something on her hands here like that girl who resembles Diabound (heh) - someone from later on with an uncanny resemblance.
Pity. She had so much to say that might influence a young prince.]
Only if you demonstrate your gratitude. Remember you're human, that you too can fail.
And learn to fend for yourself.
[She puts the plate on the table, sticking out a little. (You're lucky she's decided you aren't a proper Pharaoh in waiting. She'd have spit in it then.)]

[Papyrus munches away at her own plate, wiping her mouth on the back of her hand, and observes. Running off? No.....No, that's the look of a boy with a plan.

Jig makes a big deal of wiping some falling sausage out of his hair, pouting the whole way. That's not where that goes!
But when he looks around at the stands to put some in his mouth instead, everything's too high to reach! At least on his own.
-hey, Miss~! There's a little boy tugging on your brand new skirt~!]

....that hair.]
Can I help you, Your Majesty~?
[The lady is big and kind of sneering at you, Jig!]

He doesn't get your sarcasm, Miss Lady. (Maybe it's the age.)
But, that title don't make sense! He's not the Emperor!
Ah well.]
Can I have some, too?
-please?

Here, it's a game. Get it down and it's yours.

[-if anything the kid hunches down a little at that, Miss Papyrus. He's still confused, but failing and looking after himself...
Doubt sets in early with this brood. In contrary spades.
Contrary as in he goes from "w-wha-" hesitance turns to curious stares, as soon as games are mentioned.
Hrrrrm--
He stands under the plate a second, but doesn't actually jump. Instead he starts looking around him.
-Excuse him, Papyrus! Your not-pharaoh just toddled over to another stand.]

Show her what you're made of, almost-Prince.

A little scurrying, a couple rapping bangs, some creaking, some silence, and then some quiet "clink. clink. clink" of glass being moved.
And THEN some huffing as Jig reappears, pushing what's apparently a supply crate he emptied (and took of an npc).]

Ah, careful now. Did you ask permission? You wouldn't want to be labeled a thief!
I hear there's nothing worse.

I'm just sharing.
[And by that he means borrow, but like most kids he hears "share" more than "borrow".
But either way he means it. He even stacked the glasses to put back! Even if they did have a kinda funny smell...
Anyways, let the climbing ensue.]

[Papyrus is at least not the kind who'd mess with that cart to trip you up. Seeing as you're not decidedly a Prince, it seems.
But will he succeed?]
Watch your footing. That might wobble a bit. Can you feel it? It's unsteady....
Reply
But he's not gonna say that. Or lecture an adult about trying to trip him up.
Thoooough you can leave it to your ego where you managed this or not, Papyrus, since he checked and the crate's pretty stable.
But the plate wasn't and he pulled it ON himself, and it's flying and he's tripping and the crate's sliding.]
GAH!
[-kidlet go thud.]
