[At least the places to eat here seemed normal enough.

She wasn't feeling hungry, but Seiran still ordered a cheeseburger and plopped herself in a booth. Between getting dropped into an alternate "hotel" dimension, meeting a sweet, miniature Mo-Atem and letting a vampire snack on her, she'd had enough for a while. If she stayed here and just watched ( Read more... )

[Brunch has begun to feel more like himself again - enough that his appetite's returning. He's spent his day honing his focus by playing with doors, but one can only imagine things for so long. Time for a break, and then maybe he'll practice the Rod in the afternoon. All his spies were eaten last week, after all.

He's never tried this restaurant before but figures why not, and wanders in, ordering a salad and taking a booth across the aisle from a girl he barely notices. The Rod is by his side, hidden away in a duffel bag packed with the spoils of his morning.]

[Seiran is picking the sesame seeds off of her bun when another customer passes by her seat. She didn't pay any mind at first, but when he stays in her peripheral - sitting down - something clinks in her head, prompting her to look up.]

[She catches herself too late to stay quiet, but snaps her mouth shut when she does. Malik Ishtar?! Here?! Well, that wasn't nearly as shocking as little Atem. But it was still enough to give her a double take... though that didn't explain why her heart just jumped in her throat!]

[The girl's reaction earns a glance over from Brunch, though it might be a teensy bit more like a glare. He's determined to turn even being constantly recognized in his favor, but would a bit longer before the next round of "YOU AGAIN" be too much to ask?]

Is there something wrong?

[She immediately ducks a couple inches down when Brunch looks at her, biting her lips so she won't say anything else without thinking.

Okay, she needed to cool it, now. This was obviously not the Malik she knew. He'd be - pause for some quick age calculation - in his thirties by now. So, no need to be so nervous. Or blushing. Wait, why would that be happening at all?]

Eh-heh, no, I'm sorry. You just, look like someone I used to know.

[Queue nervous forced laugh.]
