Worth the trip, but I wish I had more time to do my own studying

Character(s): Rebecca, mentions of students and Grandpa Hopkins
Location and Date/Time: one of the Domino City Cram Schools, evening on a Friday
Summary: Rebecca contemplates what she's been doing for the past...couple months and what she plans on doing during the weekend coming up before she’s wrapped up with another class.

Rebecca grinned, putting another sentence on the board for her students to fix. She was helping them review what they had done so far. Teaching cram school was not quite like what she had expected. It wasn’t boring, even though she was teaching kids the quickest ways through different problems and having them ‘parrot’ the steps back. Some of the kids had fun laughing over the American phrase she had used as a mnemonic to remember conjunctions. FANBOYS: for, and, neither/nor, but/because, or, yet, so.

She preferred the English class to the Mathematics one she was teaching, but both were well-received. She had a feeling the fact that she was American and around a few of her students's ages was something of a novelty to both the students and the teachers at the moment, although she didn’t consider it too special. She was enjoying her work.

It had taken quite some convincing with Grandpa Hopkins to allow her to come all by herself. After showing him that she had everything planned out, thanks to all the assistance she’d gotten from the career management and study abroad offices on campus. She’d been planning on taking the job since they had mentioned it at school.

She would have to make plans to contact Anzu and see if they could meet up somewhere on a weekend, since her own schedule was full through a decent portion of the evening during the week. It was rather unfortunate that for ‘cram schools’ vacations seemed to be considered optional, which meant that for her as a teacher, they were nearly non-existent.

At least it wasn’t bad and she enjoyed what she was doing. She glanced out the window as the students brought their papers up to her and she assigned one student to correct it on the board and explain what they did.

When class was dismissed, she handed each student a sheet of paper with the mnemonics covered in class and a few that had not been covered.

[ooc- I have no clue what cram school looks like, so er...accuracy=non-existent......]
