It was a nice weekend. Had people over for Shabbat lunch. I played hostess for eight hours straight without too much craziness. I just collapsed into bed at the end of it all.
I've been realizing that people are very crude. Would it really hurt us to be polite? Reframe from refering to genitalia while in public? I find myself wanting to cover my ears whenever I leave the house lest I hear many references to issues that would be private in a civilized world. We have no shame, no discretion, no shame. I am all for being who we are and being frank, but there is a place for everything. I am horrified that the twelve-year-old at the mall makes crude reference to female genitalia more times in one conversation than I say "problematic" in one week.
I don't need to hear these things!
I am a lady, God damn it!
PS - Spring break boy: Remove your head from your rear and be a man! Call me, email me, send me a carrier pigeon. Something! It's not that hard to impress me.
