Uzi Nissan, an Israeli ex-pat living in the US for the past 30 years, has been president of Nissan Computers Inc. for the past 15. As a computer repair and consulting firm, they bought the
nissan.com domain in 1994, before auto-makers even considered an internet presence. In 1999, the Nissan Motor company filed suit against him for cybersquatting and tarnishing their trademark. This degenerated into a lengthy legal battle that is still ongoing these days, I believe. Uzi Nissan uses his nissan.com site to wage his personal public-opinion war against the Japanese auto-maker, including calls for a boycott (yes,
ravell, I remember what we talked about) and insinuations abount un-American activities by the Nissan Motor corporation. What I found most amusing, though, was Uzi Nissan's appeal to the common, oh so very common denominator among his American readers - not only are the pages chock-full of American flags, used for everything from bumper-sticker backgrounds, headers and
bullet-points, he also has a delightful sidebar detailing Nissan Motors' French Connections! It seems that
"The French automaker Renault holds a 44.4% controlling interest in Nissan Motor. 15% of the French automaker Renault, is in the hands of the French government."
Hey, it worked for
Bush.
Special added bonus: ב"ה in the top-most corner of the
