"I wanted to share this brilliant article by one of my favorite writers about my own local "fauna". It's not just that his article (as usual) is spot-on; it's that Henson is literally the most qualified person to write this particular article. Henson is not only a world-renowned Classical Historian, but an award-winning teacher. Having grown up in California Central Valley (which had a high percentage of Latino population long before LA did), he stayed "home" to teach at Fresno State. There he taught Classics to poor (mostly Latino) undergraduates, many of which went on to Ivy League graduate programs.
Lately he spends a lot of time in the exulted Hoover Institute, towering (literally) above the Stanford Campus. Watching local fauna scramble to shield their own kids from consequences of their votes is undoubtedly very amusing." (Greg sent this earlier today)
