K-pop artist G-Dragon’s new record is set to be unveiled in less than an hour, but it will have to wait until next Friday to receive a full review.
GD’s second album “Coup D’e Tat” will have three different release dates - the first five songs at today noon KST, another seven tunes on Thursday noon and the last two tracks next Friday noon, his agency YG Entertainment said in a press release Monday.
The overall 14-track album will also have four title tunes, two of which are to be unveiled today, namely “WHO YOU?” and “BLACK,” the latter featuring YG’s new artist Jennie Kim, and also the heroin in the music video of GD’s “That XX.”
“CROOKED” and GD’s version of “NILIRIA,” which he first performed with U.S. hip-hop icon Missy Elliot at Los Angeles’ KCON last Thursday, are another two title tracks to be released three days later. Missy Elliot’s version of “NILIRIA” will be released today.
Missy Elliot is not the only world-famous talent GD collaborated with in the upcoming album. Popular U.S. DJs Diplo and Baauer participated in “Coup D’e Tat,” German DJ Boys Noise joined “I LOVE IT” and U.S. singer-actress Sky Ferreira also featured in “BLACK,” one of the two last tracks to be released next Friday.
GD, Big Bang’s mastermind who wrapped up his second world tour “One Of A Kind” with two Seoul encore shows over the weekend, is revving up to kick off his full-scale activities with the second album.
