a day in my life: 11 february 2015

Feb 11, 2015 22:28

I haven't done one of these in a long while - since October 2013 in fact! If you look at that last post, you'll see how teeny Bao was then. J and I went through my day in my life archives and had a good giggle about how things were back then. I even have a post from when The Bun was nearly two. Looking back on all those posts makes me feel like I should do this more often. They aren't very exciting, really, but the memories they hold are wonderful.

During half-term, Bao is my morning alarm.
The very fact that we got as late (!) as this is reason to celebrate.

J has to leave for an early morning meeting so he says hi to Bao before he goes.

Get The Bun up. He gets to sleep in a bit during the break,
but I don't want him sleeping too late or we'll be partying into the night.

Kids are dressed and eating breakfast. Honey on wholewheat toast.

After breakfast the kids settle down to play.
Bao is typing on a cardboard laptop.

Time to do the breakfast dishes...

... until I'm interrupted by this. I don't even know how it started.

Unfortunately, concealer is now an essential if I don't want to go out in public looking monstrous.

Take bickering offspring out on a short walk. Or maybe a long walk.
(If you've ever gone for a walk with a two-year-old you'll know what I mean.)

We end up at the supermarket. I need to buy milk and hair conditioner.

Checking out the neighbourhood art on our walk home.

Stick groceries into our little fridge.

The never-ending story.

The Bun volunteers to do some holiday homework.

Start some lunch going.
While Bao takes her nap, I go online while simultaneously doing chores.

One of the radiators needs bleeding.

Fold the laundry.
Not pictured: grumpy Bao who has just woken up.

Time check: we've got to get going because
we have a family art class to attend at Gymboree at 3pm.

Just in time with a few minutes to spare.

The kids make two crafts and have a story and snack.
Bao enjoys the class so much that she cries during the Goodbye Song.

Back home again. I'm so happy the sun isn't setting at 4pm anymore.

Check in on the children and the playroom.
I don't even.

Get dinner started. We've always mixed our rice.

Why yes, we're having broccoli tonight.
(And grilled chicken, and leftover potato and carrot soup.)

The view from the kitchen balcony just before we begin eating.

J manages to arrive home just as we finish dinner.
There is a serious discussion about Transformers.

Bath and book and goodnight children!

I spend the rest of the night doing this post
and enjoying this hand cream my sister gave me.
