I must be the only person in Singapore who is not raving about the new boutique cafe, Carpenter and Cook. It's a short drive from my place and walking distance from my parents' place, so I was quite looking forward to having a potential new hangout place for coffee ( Read more... )

Hi, I share your sentiments exactly regarding the portion size and that it's pricey. I also find the crust of the tarts to be of the harder type and not crumbly. Most people sing praises for this place and am glad to find someone who shares my sentiments. Btw, I was at 717 for durians around the same time u posted on your blog and it was $18/kg. :(

Ah, so I'm not the only one! Have you tried the sweet pastries? Wonder if those are really worth the hype.

For what I paid, I'd rather spend it on durians, heh...

I tried the chocolate, lemon and passion fruit tart. Taste was normal but hard base/crust. Not really worth the $ as can be replicated at he easily. :)
