As far as memes go, this is one of the most meaningful. I always spend a lot of time on them thinking and reviewing the year. Previous years here: 2009, 2006, and 2005. I really should to make an effort to do this every year. I just looked back on 2005's entry - what a difference!

I read It Sucked and Then I Cried, but I felt cheated because she basically just cut and paste her blog into a book (which I had also read). I use netspeak and all caps to express anger etc all of the time but found it intolerable in print for some reason.

Ah, I know what you mean about feeling cheated. I started reading Dooce very late (maybe when she got pregnant with Marlo) so I missed out on the whole depression thing. I found her experience quite intense and it shed some light on my own baby blues, which is why I really engaged with her book, I think.
