Everything I could possibly write in the past few weeks have been channeled elsewhere - my thesis, which was finally submitted yesterday afternoon, and is over and done with. It felt a bit anti-climatic as I handed it in at the office, I think I expected to feel relief but I didn't really feel anything. Wait wait, actually I do: exhaustion.
J's sister got married over the weekend and it was a lovely, lovely wedding, and I helped her out as best I could, including hosting the lunch reception at our place for friends and relatives. We were up at 5am to prepare (hair and makeup for her, logistical stuff for me) and by the time the night ended it was 1am. Weddings are wonderful especially if you love the bridal couple, but they also take so much out of you, you're glad it happens (mostly) once in a lifetime for most people.
In a few hours I'll be aboard a plane heading to the Land of Smiles to see my bestie C graduate (yay!) and to decompress plenty by eating, shopping, and vegging out poolside. I wish I had time to write more and to pull together some coherent thoughts about 2008, and there really is A LOT to say, but right now I have to jump into the shower and get going to the airport. I'll be back on New Year's Eve, and then all of a sudden, it'll be another new year, another new set of adventures.
